But hasn’t the offence generally been dealing with a few injuries here and there all season?

I get that when it all comes together losing a couple key cogs can be severely damaging but I’m struggling to understand how in this case you go from a 30-40PPW offence down to single figures all of a sudden

Cooper is our best reciever without him they doubled up on Lamb and took him out of the game plus we had some bad drops and Dak was forcing it too much.

Zeke did his ankle early on and while he came back was never a factor

Add an O line that gave no protection at all and we were there for the taking.

Only our defence played well it would have been a much bigger scoreline for Kansas

Steelers D just too decimated to keep up with the Chargers last night. Couldn't stop easy throws to Allen, couldn't stop Ekeler, and continuously gave up chunk yardage to Herbert on the ground, you're not winning many football games that way.

Big one next week with Steelers @ Bengals.

Also something I don't get: OBJ is finally out of Cleveland so Baker can finally show the world how great a QB he is now Beckham's presence isn't a burden on the offense anymore.

Yet he is 26 of 50 with a 4.8 aDOT, 2 TDs and 3 picks in his last two games for a stellar 54.7 QB rating.

Yeah, that take was a load of nonsense before there were any stats to back it up.

No chance Sutton leaves, he’ll be tagged if they don’t agree a deal.

You were right!

To quote one Twitter source: they have all their groceries now, but how about a capable chef? :D

You were right!

Boom, he’s been fantastic this year.

Paton is impressing me with this in-season moves I must say.

Solve the QB situation before next season and hire a new coaching staff and who knows what might happen.

I honestly think they may be better off with Keenum the remainder of the season. They're stupid if they give Mayfield a new contract, they already picked up the fifth year option. Would be hilarious to watch them cap string themselves by giving a big payday to an average, at best, QB. He's basically the healthy version of Sam Bradford.

These seem like an odd combo of moves to complete in the middle of the season, locking up two WRs when you have Jeudy around, unless you’re prepping to make a run at a star QB.

Honestly, I was really pessimistic about getting Sutton extended.

Your obsession with OU is clouding your judgement. ;) They’re nothing alike.

Fantastic is pushing it a bit , he has had a few really big games but not a lot otherwise

I think he is good but it’s odd to lock up two WRs on contracts this big when you’ve already got Jeudy. It’s a lot of cap that is now used at WR.

NFL versions, nothing to do with OU outside they both played there.

Baker is probably a more shit version of the Favre and Romo style gunslinger mentality.
Now that is a good comparison. He’s still misplacing throws in the clutch, putting his whole arm into them. The game is not slowing down for him like it should have by now.

To piggyback on the greatest video game ever thread, he’s throwing every Ryu hadouken and kick with the strongest power button.

Nah, he’s been great, just been let down by poor throws too often.

Good receiver but also quite overrated, at least in terms of the amount of receptions he's had in his four years, which are barely more than Michael Thomas had last year alone.

Seems like the Broncos’ WR deals were decent value:
It's definitely not egregious or anything for a player as talented as Sutton, but the question here is: did they really NEED to do that? When you already have Patrick (on market value money I'd say), Jeudy, Hamler (2020 1st and 2nd round picks), Fant (2019 1st rounder) as receiving options with a 2021 2nd round RB in the backfield. The offense would've been good enough to compete with or without Sutton, now you may looking at an elite receiving core instead of a very good one but you still have the most glaringly obvious issue untouched and that's QB.

I would've let him walk and put that money elsewhere to reinforce the squad.

Never heard of this before…

I can't get over Jason Garrett being OC

Try still boggling in the mind how the feck he got a head coaching gig. And held it for nine fecking years after the interim tag was removed. I saw parallels in that hiring as I later did through a certain Molde manager getting the United interim gig which later turned into the permanent job.

Not sure if I agree or disagree but seems a misuse of crucial cap dollars that could be utilized on a bonafide starter.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...year-deal-pays-according-position-sources-say
New Orleans Saints, Taysom Hill agree to four-year deal that pays according to position, sources say

Sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter that Hill's new deal will pay him $40 million over the next four years if he remains in his current role in which he serves as backup quarterback, running back, wide receiver and tight end, as well as being a special teams ace. However, the deal can be worth up to $95 million if Hill becomes the Saints' starting quarterback over the next four years.

The deal includes $22.5 million in guarantees. Hill, 31, was scheduled to become a free agent after this season after he signed a two-year, $21 million extension with the Saints in 2020.

The Saints had some salary-cap incentive to get an extension done with Hill before his contract voided next spring. They would have been hit with $8.9 million in dead-money charges against the cap when his contract expired -- and now they can spread those cap charges over future seasons.

Hmm. I get it's not the ideal SNF matchup with the Seahawks' record, but the Niners have been better lately and it remains a nice division matchup. Don't see how Chargers @ Bengals or Broncos @ Chiefs is so much better than this game to switch them up. Ravens @ Steelers might be the best of the lot.

We've also had some truly awful TNF and SNF games so far this season, I think they should be able to flex games into the primetime slots as from Week 1 and not as from Thanksgiving.

I understand what you are saying but Seahawks are genuinely awful to watch so I am glad that they have been flexed out

What are the Broncos options for QB next season apart from Rodgers

Bridgewater is only 29 so I would expect him to be QB for some time given that he’s passing at nearly 70% accuracy (higher than Brady, Mahomes, and Rodgers). His general problem has been the fact that his receivers have been hurt for lengthy stretches which would obviously have a massive effect on degrading their passing game. The head coach and overall play calling are also a bit weak

Would be interesting to see other analytics and statistics that may show Bridgewater is performing as good as the 69.2% completion rate suggests. This article does not do so (dated 19 Nov). https://www.si.com/nfl/broncos/news/broncos-third-down-efficiency-teddy-bridgewater

The receivers being out has hurt them more than anything, which would have a ripple effect on everything from stretching the field through deep balls, to quality of route running, to TB getting sacked more often, to poor red-zone performance. If you add dodgy play calling into the mix, you get a team that is collectively punching below its weight.

They need Jeudy, Sutton, Fant, and Patrick healthy for a lengthy stretch to make a decent run at a playoff spot imo.

Teddy was a cheap rental. It might be Matt Ryan next year as suggested in the tweet above or…ugh…Cousins instead of AArod or Russ like we hoped, but it’ll be somebody else sooner rather than later.

You know, it might not be all that bad a year for drafting a QB even though there’s no great ones as the class is so strong elsewhere (like linemen on both sides) you won’t have to trade up.

Would be the first in-season firing of a HC by the Bears in their 101-year history as a franchise. But it's looong overdue.

Teddy started out strong and better than I’d been hoping for but it turns out he was flattered by garbage opposition and hasn’t done particularly well since week 4. Yea receivers missing isn’t ideal but he’s still forced things and made some very questionable decisions, not to mention the horror show of completely giving up on the fumble return.

The thing that has hurt Denver more than anything is the shit coaching and playcalling. How Tom McMahon still had a job I truly do not understand.

Yep, I don’t see Teddy being there next year. I can’t speak to the draft options.

@Rado_N

First you wish a Vikings meltdown and now you bad mouth Teddy? Watch out. :nono:
