While Stafford is better than Goff, I always felt like he's a mid tier qb at best, and his record vs teams with winning records shows that. He's not the qb you want in the post season when its just the best of the best left.

Odell is just a locker room cancer, he can't and won't replace Woods. His 4 career post season catches isn't going to push them over the other NFC powerhouses.
Having been at the Lions his entire career until now, it’s pretty hard to look at record vs winning teams when considering Stafford. Winning against those teams would almost always have been against the odds.

It was the first game and he did get the first snap give him time to bed in and start demanding more and more or at least hide behind his dad demanding it.

Again he is not elite and not worth what he brings with him.

I'm a Cowboys fan I went through the same thing with Dez Bryant. It's not good for the team to have players like that.

Quarterbacks being forced to make the wrong pass to keep them happy. The best thing happened Dak was Dez being cut and now he is surrounded by better recievers who actually understand it's a team game

I just don’t agree with this trail of thought. The best coaches fit players like this into their game plan. It’s a coaching problem, be it getting the ball to them but more importantly keeping these players as being for the team rather than themselves. Odell has this stigma associated with him but I’m not really sure how much it’s based on fact.

I think Stafford is good, but not elite. I think he’s the kind of QB who you can go all the way with, if you have a really good team.

You have to think the Rams would have won the Superbowl had he been playing instead of Goff.

He is a huge upgrade on Goff. OBJ for me doesn't add enough to be considered like that and Von Miller is probably near the end of his career but still capable of big plays

The OBJ hate online is quite weird, and doesn’t seem to be based on an awful lot.

There were even memes about the “OBJ cycle” of joining a team, demanding too much, being a bit shit, falling out with everyone and leaving. He’s played at two teams his whole career and his teammates all seem to love him.

The Rams seem to be stumbling a bit at the moment but I really hope they can recover and go the distance.

Last night was almost a throwback to the 2019 version of the Niners.

Every good team has had a blip this year right. I think it will come down to which team hits their stride (or regains their stride) at just the right time.

I can’t remember the actual figures but this record is truly shocking.

This is from before this season,

"Since entering the NFL in 2009, Matthew Stafford is 8-67 (.106) against teams that finished the season with a winning record."

I mean, people say he was with the Lions but he did have Megatron and some decent defences. And a winning record could just be 9-7, not powerhouse teams. This year with an all star roster he has also struggled vs good teams

Ravens releasing Le'Veon Bell what chance the Rams take him too?

Of course Aaron Jones gets hurt late in the season. Of fecking course
Sprained MCL apparently, hopefully he's back for the playoffs. AJ should hold the fort down till then.

Thankfully one game and then bye week
He should be back for the game after

Gary's arm injury looked nasty and Mercilus is out with Bicep injury too.

We are running out of bodies to throw in the mix.

It’s a truly abysmal record. Was just looking at some of the other QBs. There’s a lot who have played too few games to compare. The only experienced ones with similarly bad returns are Derek Carr and Kirk Cousins. Neither are as poor as Stafford though.

Fair point about Megatron, it certainly helps to have a HOF wide receiver to throw to.

And during that period he racked up top 15 all time NFL stats in terms of yards and TDs. The fact that the Lions were a below average team overall, would've been a pretty big factor in them (not him) having a good record against teams with winning records.

Fair enough. I mean he didn't have a ton of seasons with multiple weapons (usually one solid receiver), never had a great line or running game, but still, I just personally feel (as a cowboys fan), whenever we've faced him he hasn't impressed me as much as other top 15 QBs.

If I were to give up multiple 1st round picks for a 'all in' type QB, he just wouldn't have been my first choice.

Saw that, thankfully it's just one game. Once we have Bak, Z and Jaire back plus Jones and AJ in there and Rodgers throwing to Adams, MVS, Lazard and Cobb, for the first time in quite a while, I feel 100% confident there's no team in the NFL that can beat us. Now imagine if Tonyan wasn't out for the season too. It'd be a lock.

People say that every year though don't they? Packers have a great season and are favourites for the super bowl. But I think it will end in similar fashion and they'll fall on the final hurdle once more.

I've never felt this confident. Past two seasons we've been 13-3 and failed but this year for the first time, the defense is looking lockdown good. They have held 6 teams to 20 points or below, with Rodgers if you're holding teams below 20, you're going to win 99% of the time and come winter with a snowy filled Lambeau, I'm confident. Playing this good without Bak, Jaire and Z Smith, imagine Z Smith and Preston Smith out there with Jaire and Bak, that defense will crush most offenses, just need Rodgers to keep it ticking and with the beast run game of Jones and AJ, we are the most equipped, we can win a football game in many different ways.

Given it’s an MCL sprain and it’s 1-2 weeks -not just 1 game- and the Packers have their bye in Week 13, I don’t expect to see Jones on the field again before Week 14. There’s no reason to rush him, and AJ Dillon looks great as well.

If Green Bay get to the Superbowl will their fans really appreciate Snoop,Dre and Kendrick Lamar in the halftime show?

  • Samuel is second in the NFL with 979 receiving yards, which is also the second-most through nine games in franchise history.
  • That total is good for 43% of the team's receiving yards, the highest percentage by any player through nine games since Antonio Brown in 2015.
  • His 517 yards after the catch leads the NFL and gives him a chance to be the first wideout to do that since Demaryius Thomas in 2013. He's also averaging 9.6 yards after the catch per reception, which would be the highest for any receiver with 50 or more receptions over the past 15 seasons.

I always hope but if we keep this defence healthy, we look like we have play makers
Will need some luck but am more confident we can make Superbowl if Rodgers is of course a healthy QB too

They've never defended this well though since their Superbowl win. The real question is whether this defence is for real, because you can be assured that Rodgers will eventually get the offence going again.

Not a current player but feck me, that's a terrifying video.

Christ that’s fecked up. Steroids and repeated blows to the head has to be the explanation for much of this stuff. You don't see anywhere near the same number of these incidents in the NBA do you?

I rarely watch these videos, I’m properly shaken by that. Actually seeing it. It’s just, incomprehensible to me. Fecking disgusting human being.

I can’t bring myself to watching videos like that. The comments are bad enough.

As a Vikings fan, I can tell you that the Lions were woeful. The years where they had a decent defensive line, their oline was bad enough that Stafford shouldn't be alive and play professional football, they also generally had no run game, so Stafford to Megatron was the only way for them to move the ball. Stafford is a decent QB and the Lions ruined his career, they are the Timberwolves of Football.
