This team man they drive me absolutely nuts. Wentz is the perfect QB of this team , he is so unpredictable it's bonkers. Incredible win

I would call it incredibly lucky - against a very weak team. The Guardina writes "woebegone win" - pretty apt description, I think.

That whole play was like a microcosm of the state the Giants are currently in.

I think anytime that you win a game in which you were down 11 with 6 minutes left it is an incredible win. Eagles were shit for large parts but I don't think that we were lucky to win.

Terrelle Pryor, Kap, and Mariotta have also had very long runs recently....probably even longer than Jones.
Yet didn't score? I remember Mariota's but that was a TD run.

I’m just surprised it wasn’t Lamar or Kyler with the fastest number, but I guess it takes awhile to get up to full speed even for them.

I think you've gotta take those numbers with a grain of salt. Vick always seemed like the fastest QB to me, followed by Lamar.
Why is that? They have chips on them and sensors all over the football field to track speed and acceleration, so I'd say those numbers can be trusted.

The eye test would definitely point to Vick or Lamar though yeah. I always think Tyreek Hill is the fastest player in the NLF, but the last two seasons it's been Matt Breida. Ruggs might give him a run for his money now.

The highest speed is pretty meaningless. Acceleration and dexterity are far more important.

Yah, I'd take those Next Gen Stats with a grain of salt because I don't think they actually tell us who the fastest is. It's pretty rare to find yourself running in a straight line during a football game. You'd be right to think Tyreek Hill is faster than Matt Breida. Their pro day 40 times bear that out, 4.29 vs 4.38.

Well that's without cleats, can be a huge difference for some players. Fastest ball carrier means fastest ball carrier during a game, doesn't mean that that player is indeed the fastest player in the NFL during let's say a 100m sprint of course.

Unless I missed it, Hill is still the fastest between him and Breida. He was recorded at 22.64 mph now it wasn't as a ball carrier but as Damian Williams escort and he slows down when he is next to Williams.

Yeah that would make sense indeed, Breida was the fastest ball carrier in 18 and 19 with a speed of 22.09 and 22.30 so Hill was faster in that case. Not sure if having a ball in your grasp actually diminishes your speed a bit, might be the case.

The main difference is how each position is played, WR are rarely in a position to reach their full speed due to how they receive the ball and run routes before it, only fly routes would allow them to reach their top speed and even then they will have to slowdown, adjust for the ball and make sure that they don't outrun the arm of their QB. A RB is different though, when they break the line of scrimmage they generally have the possibility to go on an almost straight line.

The opposite of accelerating QBs, I present Bernie Kosar and Steve Bono. The play below is the fastest I've ever witnessed Kosar move. Bono was aided by the entire defense reacting to the play fake.

Yeah agreed. It is also "ball carrier" so unless I'm mistaken, a top speed recorded by a WR who runs his route and catches the ball in the endzone is/should not be counted because it doesn't qualify as ball carrier.

EDIT:
Fastest Ball Carriers shows the maximum speed, measured in Miles Per Hour (MPH), a player achieves on a given play when carrying the ball on offense (rusher, passer or receiver) or special teams (punt or kick returner). This stat highlights many of the fastest players in the league.

Last year's top 15:

Breida
Patterson
Brandon Wilson
Chubb
CMC
Saquon
Hardman
Waller
Barkley
Hardman
Beckham
Malcolm Butler
Curtis Samuel
Fitzpatrick
Cohen

So only one WR in the top 10 (Patterson's was a rushing attempt). Only 2 WR in the top 10 for 2018 as well - Dede Westbrook and Tyreek Hill (twice).

I still remember Beckham's once, 21.7 mph

Yup, WR would be mainly limited to runs after the catch which generally means that the defense is beat and the WR doesn't have to go at full speed or he is in traffic and can't run on a straight line. RBs on the other end needs to accelerate as fast as they can in order to breakaway.

Mixon downgraded to “out”

:(
Yeah sucks, I have him too in my home league. No idea why they did put him out on the field again then last week.

At least I was able to pick up Bernard in time.

Yea at least they had the decency to downgrade him now.

Reminds me of the rants in The League; “what the feck is questionable?! nobody knows what it means!!”

 Great series first few seasons.

Now I’m going to have to watch the Halloween episodes of The League again. ’Ghost Monkey...’

Sidebar: I forgot both of the last two Mannings held out in the draft, with Peyton going back to Tennessee supposedly to beat Florida his senior year when he saw the Jets at the top of the draft. It’d be funny if history repeated itself.

How good is he in terms of a fantasy asset? Sounds promising if he can keep his head straight.

Well Brady did love him for the 1 game he had in NE & apparently was against him being cut. Another very good offensive weapon for them, but like I said before, he’s a nutcase. Hopefully for his sake, he takes what is probably his final chance & doesn’t feck up.

Didn't realise the entire OL for the Raiders has gone on the Covid list. Well that's a lock for the Bucs then... the best part of the Raiders game is their OL play.
I think only Trent Brown is missing the game

Neither Godwin or Evans have been fit all season but it seemed they were getting there. High risk insurance I guess.
