... and honestly. It's not like this team has a chance of doing anything anyway. We might make the playoffs by default, but thats as far as it goes.

Nah. Dalton will be our QB for the season now. Surely the reason you bring in a veteran backup QB is for exactly this reason?

Exactly. Also Dalton is pretty solid , anyone would struggle a bit if thrown in mid game like this . I don't see anything available in the trade Market that is much better

P.S : It's still absolutely insane to me that the colts actually watched Rivers last season and genuinely thought that this is our guy

@Eboue Is running the ball and having a balanced attack what you consider an outdated philosophy and disagree with? Or that RBs are overvalued and easily replaceable? Or both? I think these are different conversations, but they sometimes get conflated on here. While I've come around and agree with you on the latter, I still think having a balanced attack is important. Being able to use clock and ground out wins are huge advantages that come with a good running game. No doubt the league has gone completely pass-happy and by far the most important position in all of sports is a QB, not disagreeing with you there. The days of winning a Super Bowl with a run-first offense/strong D and game manager at QB are prolly long gone.

Its good to have a successful running game but line scheme and coaching determines success more than the running back does.

Why did they not just kick the field goal and take an 8 point lead? Going for 4th and 1 backfired massively.

I guess it looks bad in hindsight as it was in fact 4th and inches and they could have iced the game with that play.

Because as you can see they came right back and scored. If you get that 1 yrd game is over. With the success their running game was having I am not surprised he went for it

If you block well, you run well.

DK Metcalf is a grown man, fecking hell. Didn't think he'd be this good this early in his career but you just cannot stop him. Almost caught a deep TD too which Wilson overthrew and he still got within a few yards from catching it. Crazy.

Wanna see some statistics on that 4th & inches gamble by Zimmer. If you give the ball back to Wilson with an 8-point lead at their own 25, what's the chance he gets a TD in 90" and successfully converts a 2-PT conversion? On the other hand you'd have to think the Vikes' 4th & inches success rate is quite high, even without Cook in the line-up. There was a gaping hole to Mattison's right too:

Given the state of their defense/secondary, I understand the call. If you kick a FG there and Wilson ties the game, everyone will say you weren't aggressive enough.

It is arguably one of the hardest calls I can remember. I am generally always a go for it person and in this game Seahawks defence had been on for 40 minutes and were hopeless Vs the run so it made sense . Having said that though the fact that they would have been 8 ahead makes even me consider that maybe it wouldn't have been a bad idea to kick it because worst comes to worst you are getting OT . Just a very hard call

It's weird watch the Ravens O look so tumescent and slow, but still curb-stombing the Bengals.

They have overall looked a bit tumescent this year, which is mainly down to not diversifying more from having to rely on Lamar's scrambling and more on the passing game.

Really feel for Dak. Hopefully he comes back from this, but I’m not sure if that’s going to be with Dallas.

I just hope other players take a good look at him and don’t play under the tag anymore. The tag needs to go.

They are forcing the passing game, never more evident than this week. They were running pretty well on the Bengals (Lamar aside) when they wanted to, but spent most of the game trying to get Lamar into a passing rhythm. Lamar is clearly injured, exceptionally reluctant to pull the ball down and run and his mechanics are all over the place, when he did run he looked like he had concrete shoes on. Lamar missed practise last week when a knee injury and sickness, he also had a groin strain in training camp.

Yesterday the Ravens defense absolutely trucked Burrow. The Ravens offense failed to really get started. None of it is helped by the Oline looking patchwork, but Lamar is definitely not 100%>

Agreed & I think there will be more players holding out going forward, backing themselves to get paid eventually rather than risk injury & end up with little. The threat of holdout was the only way Zeke got his contract & in hindsight, maybe Dak shouldn’t have been so professional with his conduct.

Or maybe he should have lowered his expectations, he could have had a 5 year contract. Take it or leave it. He did not take it.
