Massive win for the Cards. Nobody is getting out of the NFC West 13-3 this year...
They will be greatly improved, no doubt. I have them as better than the Rams and about level with the 49ers. Seattle are clearly the standout.

As for the 49ers, well we are paying for some pretty dodgy receiver decisions. I would have paid Sanders to stay if possible, our QB is a nervous wreck who needs reliable weapons whom he has faith in. OK we've been unlucky with the number of receivers go down but to be relying on a rookie and 2nd year guy is poor management.

Defensively paying Armstead after arguably one yrs production seems an error as well. Although mobile QB's killed us last year all season long so I'm less concerned over the D.

Shame they didn't fancy having a first round pick this year, could have got him an extra weapon.
They could've traded for Hopkins as well. Really criminal when you consider how good their O-line is.

Jimmy G looked terrible.
Haskins was surprisingly good. Even Trubisky exceled.
But, it's just week #1.

As nice as it is to hear rival fans say good things about my team, I respectfully disagree. Can't draw too many conclusions from game week 1, and I still have the Niners as the team to beat in our division. Defensively I think you will be fine - maybe not as game wrecking as last year but still a top 5 or 10 defense. Offensively, success will come entirely down to injury luck. Jimmy G is a known quantity at this point - he's not going to win you games but he mostly won't lose them for you either. If Deebo is in and out of the squad or misses serious time, then I think the offensive scheme will start falling apart as replacement quality dips. Cardinals should be much improved and the Rams are still good but not scary as long as they have Goff behind center. I still think the winner of the two SEA-SF games will win the division.

Deebo is on IR until week 4 at least. Our next 3 are very winnable, but wk 2 & 3 are Morning east coasts so you never know, then it gets proper tough. Jimmy looks very rusty but we will slant & scheme our way through a lot of games like last season. Mobile QB's give us real problems on D, give me a pocket passer oppo all day long. Although we seriously kept the wrong guy in Armstead over Buckner, Kinlaw is very raw.

If we aren't at least 2-2 going in to wk 5 then Cardinals will push you the most.

Interesting, always nice to get the perspective of oppo fans. I may just be too jaded to give my team too much credit - close to thirty years of Seahawks fandom will do that to a person. Re: Kinlaw - I thought that was an interesting pick this year. He's clearly got a ton of talent, but as you said is very raw. The idea that he was going to come in and somehow mask the loss of Buckner was rather laughable. He definitely has the tools to raise your defense back to league-best levels if he develops at a more rapid pace, though.

Find comfort in the belief that the defense is very inexperienced and will improve during the season. ;)

Oh for sure, I kinda figured something like this would happen early on. And even though they ended up scoring a bunch in half-garbage time, I expect and hope our offense gets better too. Seeing Kirk actually leave collapsing pockets was nice, as well as seeing us go for it on 4th down (even though I didn't love the actual playcall).

I'd say you are favs for the West.... But I get your 30yrs thing totally. When you have Wilson you always have a chance. You'll be up there no doubt & I'd back you to sweep us this season. We aren't quite the same force but it's early days I know.

What in the actual feck happened to the Eagles
O-line is a disaster. 2 season ending injuries and now 38-year old Peters protecting Wentz’ blind side. He got no time to get anything done yesterday.

Case of Eagles o-line being that bad or Washington’s front line also being of note?

I’ve gotten through most of the games now, my thoughts so far are that the Seahawks look really good, Brady and Tampa will take some time to get going (if at all, but I suspect it’ll come second half of the season), I’m mighty happy with how Newton’s debut turned out (although I think if we really want to compete in the playoffs we will need to get more throwing into the game plan), Minshew looked great but that Jags D is going to get found out in other games, and the Packers and Rodgers looked really dangerous.

Summerville around where you live?

I absolutely love him, great to have him back after almost two full seasons off. Hoping he can stay fit for the majority of the season.
Not “near” me, but I went to see him play just because he was so good. We’re the same age so he was an absolute living legend when I was in school, so needless to say, I’m happy he’s back at it as well.

Nobody watching the Steelers Giants game?

Going about how I expected. Steelers don't look much more explosive on offense than last year, while the Giants are keeping it close by dinking and dunking. Saquon has had zero help from the O-line today. Fully expect the Steelers D to close this game out for them. Denver-Tennessee should hopefully be a little more exciting.

Ain’t that a bitch...I didn’t notice Hamler was out in addition to Sutton. There’s only Jeudy out of the offensive rooks to scout for Denver. Other than center Cushenberry, I guess.

Ugh, a fumble deep in your own territory followed by an offsides on 3rd & 5...that’s a good blueprint to not win.

And there’s a missed extra point by the Titans. I am grateful to the Titans for being so accommodating to our injury situation.
