38 years old and still elite.
Yeah, but past his peak. He lost a bit of accuracy and forces the ball a little too often nowadays. Still extremely good. But the Saints managed to waste his prime. Putting the old child abuser in the backfield won't make them contenders.

I don't really get how the Raiders are building their roster, by the way. They have some very good and young building blocks, but they somehow still spend a lot in free agency. I'm a bit afraid they might age a little too much in the coming years and then fall into a little slump.

Anyone know what time the draft is for us in the UK?

Yep 1am.

I don't usually bother staying up but this year it's interesting because it really isn't clear who is going to go where. Last couple years it's been significantly more obvious.

I think that the No.1 pick is obvious for the Browns in Myles Garrett, but after that its really unclear. Can see the 49ers and the Texans trading down, and the Browns trading up to get Trubisky at QB, even though all the analysts state that he is not ready as a day 1 starter.

I've got no idea who, my team, the Raiders will draft. To me it seems that we need linebackers, and defensive line, but I've seen all sorts of predictions of offensive tackles and running backs. Am very tempted to stay up and find out.

I'm tempted to stay up and see what the Broncos do, but at #20 it's going to be pretty late unless they trade up.

We need a left tackle but I don't know whether Elway is planning on covering that in the first round or later or even making a trade or free agency move after the draft.

There's been a lot talk of McCaffrey at RB which obviously makes sense but would require trading up I suspect, I don't see him being around at #20.

There's also been a lot of commentators suggesting trading down and collecting more picks in the later rounds due to the depth and lack of a big differential once past the likely first 15 or so picks.

Will be interesting.

Given up on watching the draft since they split it up into so many pieces just to try and make some money out of it. Now I just open up ESPN.com on my phone everyone hour and see the updates.

Broncos apparently looking to trade up to take the Titan's pick at #5, which could be expensive.

Has to be for McCaffrey.

Stupid move, IMO, and sounds like, "Hey, your father played with me" move. Fournette and Cook are the better options if taking a back. McCaffrey will be a good player in the right system but top ten is a MASSIVE reach for him. Schefter, Golic, McFarland - all saying the same thing this morning.

Btw, Schefter mentioned that some clubs are falling in love with McCaffery because of his "awesome combine."

Buyer beware.

One positive Schefter did give was that McCaffery would provide a different dimension in the passing and running game PLUS special teams contribution, but one negative was that he's not a feature back type that a club builds around (ala Fournette and Cook). Simply said by Golic and McFarland - don't overreach for a slot receiver hybrid type.

I don't know enough about him to really have a strong opinion to be honest, but I've read a lot of stuff linking us with him in recent weeks and a trade up to get him has been on the cards for a while.

I don't think for one minute that Elway would pick him just because his dad was a Bronco.

I never thought any coach/manager would then Parcells drafted Bobby Carpenter in 2006 (I wanted Marcus McNeil to solidify the RT spot at the time). Different approaches (Elway/Parcells) obviously but I simply do not see McCaffrey worthy of a top ten selection especially as the cost it would be to move up that high. Denver is better off staying put IMO and building up the OL.

Think the Pats will draft mostly on defense - possibly another TE but we seem sorted on offense.

Will be interesting to see the QB situations for each team after the draft.

We definitely need a left tackle, big time, but we're utter shit at the run as well so we do need a RB. Whether McCaffrey is that guy I don't know.

Particularly when Curtis Samuel should be available in the 2nd or 3rd if you are after that type of playmaker.

Saw one mock had Mahomes soaring up the draft board, somewhere around 10-13.

While I think he'll end up the best of this lot, early first round is a massive reach IMO. But that's just how it goes with QBs. We could see one QB or a handful go tonight.

Rumor that Kansas City is trying to move up high. QB? Might be one of a few spots a young QB could blossom there. Sit a year or two, learn from Reid, and go.

But what else could KC use? They're good enough now to go for impact players not worry about a future QB that could flop.

The Browns didn't feck up, that deserves a round of applause. They now have a player that the fans can be excited about.

Could always take a flyer on a different ex-OU RB with dodgy morals... I don't know the sources (because, you know, NFL draft talk) but supposedly some scouts have Mixon as the top RB, and even maybe the top prospect overall with off-the-field stuff aside.

I just don't see what's about him but guess scouts and personnel staff know what they're doing. Chicago probably not the best spot for young QB to develop.

They completely ruined the draft, the wankers. Going to a sports bar on the Saturday morning of the draft was one of my annual sporting traditions, same as a Super Bowl party or skipping class for college signing day or the first rounds of March Madness.

Now it's like a 12-hour long mini-series of shiteness that you're just wanting to end already.

Might be a good fit in Carolina if he's not expected to be the primary back. I figured Allen was their pick - seemed a right fit as Carolina has always loved big DL types.

The Bears made a gutsy move trading up for Trubisky. They will look back on this years from now and be glad they did.
