Picking a running back fourth overall is so dumb.

I think Elliot from a talent perspective isn't a bad pick. Also when you consider how good their O Line is. But overall I tend to agree with you. Running backs always have durability problems and are virtually guaranteed a significant injury at some point.

That does sound good, but I can't handle watching sports when not live, it's the tension etc I thrive off.

I prefer to watch NFL games during the week, I hate the ads.

Redzone is ad free

The best sports show there is - six hours uninterrupted football and you see all the big plays/talking points. Only issue is the bastards Sky don't have on it in HD every week.

The SD is especially annoying when we go QUAD-BOX! Can't see a fecking thing but it's QUAD-BOX.

 ah man, standard definition truly does suck and QUAD-BOX makes it so apparent!

The Jaguars selected Myles Jack.:(

Can't help but like that Jaylon Smith pick. Even as an Eagles fan, second round affords you some opportunity to do something like this. feck if they stay patient with him, i'd just have him sit for a year and rehab. No need to rush the young lad at just 21, he'll be 22 at the start of play for the 17/18 season.

They don't have any choice, he is out for 2016.

Ah i knew he underwent surgery but didn't know he was already ruled out for all of next season. Well then feck it, I think that's a great pick. Was really moving to see the cut-away shots to him and his family and friends as well.

He is also probably out for 2017, he is a great prospect but the Cowboys defense isn't really good, so I don't think that it was a great idea to take Smith that high.

It's just that you can get good running backs in later rounds all the time.

Giants picked Sterling Shephard and looks like a good WR prospect. ODB, Cruz (if fit), this guy and Jennings.. Good crop of receivers to work with for Eli. SB, here we come

Any comments on the Pats picks? SI rated them B/B- picks (except the QB who got a C). Any one of them likely to have an impact in the upcoming season?

I'm also hoping we get contract extensions for Collins, Hightower & the legend that is Malcolm Butler sorted soon. Can't afford to lose any of them.

I only know cyrus Jones, if he puts his hands on the ball he is gone and he is a great returner.

DE for the raiders in "War on Infidels" Ward. good looking pick to me.
Disappointed we didnt go for A'Shawn Robinson (based on 10 minutes of scouting on Youtube).

Wasn't sure about Matio Edwards last year either and that worked out ok so..

there were a lot of people projecting for a long time that he'd go in the first round. The fact that he didn't go until pick 46 suggests that there were a few late questions about him from the teams but I know what you're saying. Still we've made some genuine additions to the defence now, so hopefully we can pick up a corner and then see what's left.

It's not that - it's more that he's really a run stuffer but doesn't impact the passing game. If you look at all the top defensive picks they are either 3 down players or players who impact the passing game.

So how does our fellow Vikes fans feel about the Alexander pick? I felt very indifferent about it at first, but I think it can be a decent pick, seeing that Newman is old. But I guess the safety prospects weren't there? Should have gotten someone to sit alongside Smith.

It's a top prospect and like you said the needs weren't there or at least the players available weren't worthy of a second round. And since 2017 is a contract year for Rhodes and Munnerlyn, Alexander will be extremely valuable.

Should we get a back up for Romo or stick with defensive picks, thoughts?

The cowboys really confused me, they didn't need a RB and it kind of killed their draft. For me it should have been Ramsey, Reed, Cook and then BPA.

Yeah I am not really sure. Majority of the fans seem to be happy with the picks so far. Would have liked Cook to come to us. WTF were the raiders thinking?

First ever player straight from Europe to be drafted. Got into the sport watching Peterson on YouTube at 17, supports the Vikings. Now drafted by the Vikings. Nice story.
