Best thing about the Giants' season is they are playing at Twickenham in October as a result.

So unsurprisingly the Rams, Chargers and Raiders have all submitted applications to move to LA.

They're also all eligible for appearing on Hard Knocks, so hopefully whichever team gets the move will also feature on the show; watching the ins and outs of the relocation process would be interesting.

Is a move to LA actually going to happen for one or two of them this time? I thought moving to LA was a threat that everyone used but never acted upon.

Reckon two of them could move tbh, but I expect there is like zero chance the NFL miss a rare opportunity for Hard Knocks - Beverly Hillbillies Edition.

Well they've all submitted the applications now, so its in the hands of the league/owners.

Surprised Pagano extended. I thought he'd be certain to leave.

So what happens to the fans of the teams they leave behind? They all have to support an LA team now? I guess for Oakland and San Diego can just pretend as it's still the same state but how about Rams fans?

Who gives a feck about fans?!

There was a good piece by John Oliver on NFL teams threatening to relocate over Stadium demands etc, will try and link to it later.

Well the St. Louis Rams were originally the Cleveland Rams and then they went to Los Angeles. But yes, it sucks for the fans.

St.Louis probably has the best alternate proposal to build a stadium and stop the relocation. Charges have big time support in that area and seems thy are working with Raiders to build a new stadium.

Chargers and Raiders will move and I think the Rams will get shortchanged out.

Nice one, thanks.

I always wondered how Fishcher kept his job year after year. They never (seem to) finish with a winning record and basically stink out the NFC West.

Anyway, the rest seem logical. Coughlin always looked like a grandad so I feel sad for him.

Fischer for some reason is very highlighted despite having like a 6/20 winning season record. It's very strange.

Weirdest Statistical Profile of 2015: Tavon Austin, STL

You won't find Austin's name in either of those tables, but he was last among all players with -122 receiving DYAR. A 60 percent catch rate isn't bad, but 9.1 yards per catch is, and Austin had 87 targets, which meant a lot of opportunity to build up negative value. However, he managed to do the impossible and lead all players at any position with 254 rushing DYAR. He gained 434 yards on only 52 carries. That makes him just the fifth player (and first non-quarterback) to rush for 400 or more yards and average at least 8.0 yards per carry in the last half-century. I have spent all day trying to think of another situation like this in sports, where a player is the worst in the league in what his job typically is, but the best in the league in something he's not even supposed be doing. He's like a National League pitcher with a 10.0 ERA who leads the league in home runs. Or a 7-foot NBA center who can't block a thing but dishes out assists like you wouldn't believe. Anyway, Austin's total of 132 DYAR makes him one of the Rams' best players on offense, but he sure found a strange way of getting there.

Lovie Smith getting fired by the Bucs is a stupid decision - he only got 1 year with the new franchise QB and the Bucs did win 6 games this season (4 games more than last!)...

Come on Glazers...there is a manager in Manchester who needs your attention as well as one in Munich!

 That was my first reaction

"FFS, why aren't you as ruthless with shitty LVG"

He seems to be the only manager to have been fired after an improvement from the previous year. Bizarre decision.

The Broncos announced Peyton Manning will start at QB in the divisional round of the playoffs - Brock 'apparently' sprained his ankle lolol

The thing is though, the side of the ball where he was meant to be strongest hasn't improved. His two seasons have seen some of the worst defence ever especially in passing. And I think a particular factor was that he was given the power to virtually pick his defensive players. He let big names like Revis go, and his picked replacements haven't exactly been up to scratch. Add to that the OC is very highly rated, and has built a strong tie with Winston (apparently), and has looked like he will be covetted as a head coach by another team, it could just be a case of the Bucs stopping him from leaving and they must think that Lovie isn't a big price to lose.

Having said that, Smith has shown improvement this year and just overall it's a strange time to release a coach. It's not like a very strong team who have significantly underperformed, it was in the middle of a rebuild which looked like it might be working.

I definitely think it's an odd one, but there have been and will be more bizarre dismissals than this.

I don't think they really need to invent an injury to justify themselves in bringing him back after last game.

Agreed that it would be difficult to do otherwise now.

But Denver front office need to be careful about how they're dealing with Brock. He showed enough to think he can be the next starter when Manning hangs up his boots which is bound to be this season of next season at most.

Brock's a free agent after this season, so if they want to keep him he's gonna need to get paid which will probably mean getting rid of Peyton's massive salary or at least having him take a big big cut.

There's a choice to make, and if they think Brock is good then it's a pretty obvious one for the long term. Unless Manning takes the cut, obviously.

Think it'd be more likely they'd have to invent an excuse if they were to drop Manning again.
Probably. I was in Brock's camp going into the last game as he'd done enough to deserve the start but you can't ignore the impact Manning had when he came in.

They had 14 draft picks the past 2 years and used 13 of them on offense. It's not a surprise that the defense struggled.

Who do people think will win this weekend? I'm going for the Chiefs, Steelers, Seahawks & Packers to get through.

Steelers
Seahawks
Redskins
Texans (just hope so because I like them a lot)

Definitely agree with you there, misunderstood what you were saying. I have to admit to liking Fisher, just seems like a good guy, maybe that is why

He has a very big reputation so certainly there's more to it than lack of winning seasons! I like him too tbh.

Packers / Redskins is the only one I'm in doubt about. Packers are really limping in. The Skins could put up some points early.
