I probably sit somewhere in the middle. We’ll see how teams adjust defensively if it becomes more prominent, some very good players got made to look foolish at times this year. Whether it was JPP against the Redskins or Clay Matthews this past weekend. I agree with Forevergiggs that to a certain extent we’ve seen it before and Brady types will likely continue to be the ideal. Luck is closer to that mould than the other rookies and he will probably learn from all the inefficient throws and interceptions he had this year in the long term. He is not exactly Drew Bledsoe though, in fact his raw numbers are close to that of Cam Newton. He can run if ‘forced to’.
It depends on the current and future talent pool at the college level as you mentioned but I don’t watch it enough to comment. If I’m someone like the Bills though and I have a QB who may be slightly too good to easily replace but not good enough to compete. Or I’m not in position to get a pocket passer maybe I go with an athletic draft pick with deficiencies in other areas. Its better than being stuck in a rut and they already have the likes of Spiller and Jackson who played in Gailey’s scheme.
