Business has worked the same way for a few years. Money just hasn't been used for one player but instead being spread over few quality ones during the window. Also, never one of the big boys was on the other side.
So, yeah, this cries from Barcelona are little funny. They never had any complaints before and now are trying to make an anti-PSG coalition. All that, while breaking multiple rules when they were buying Neymar in the first place.
Hopefully we have something like pre agreement with Griezman to join us next year. With the money Barcelona have now, hope they go for Coutinho and Dybala and not Griezman!

Barca had no choice Buy Out clauses are mandatory in Spain. They had to put one in but they could have made it much larger if they wanted to.
It's true that PSG have done what United/PL fans have been dreaming about for years i.e being able to lure one of the worlds best from one of the Spanish super clubs. However, the only reason they can do this is because they're state funded and have near endless pots of cash. And we dont really have the pull to get such players from them without that. I'm fine with that to be honest. Buy some top class talent and not ready made world beaters and it's fine, as long as you have a great manager. Fergie never bought Neymar level of players either. But he won more managers who managed Neymar will.

They could, but Neymar's agent/dad would have probably rejected it. Both parties have to agree on a contract.

The main affect of this transfer is that buyout clauses in Spain will probably treble over the next couple years.

It started with Blackburn and them buying the PL. It got bigger when Billionaires got involved but it had already been around.
Can we compete with that? Probably not but I don't think we should regulate how a person/country spend their money. If the Glazers had the money to sponsor this deal I wouldn't be saying what no you can't do that it's not fair on everyone else.
At the top end of the table, their teams are very good, which is exactly what you would expect if you looked at income distribution. That's not to say that the rest of the league isn't absolute garbage, which is also something to be expected looking at income.

I don't see Neymar having the careers Messi or Ronaldo have/had. I see him retiring in 5-6 years, for some reason.
Players earning unrealistic amounts will widen the disparity in football. Amounts of money that cannot be generated organically within football means that those who don't happen to have a country backing them cannot compete fairly.
It ruins the game in the same way that an athlete who wins a race by doping has ruined the competition. It has no integrity anymore.
I also think that in terms of politics and ethics etc, a state should not be able to own a club in someone's national league. The club becomes a potential political vehicle, and has scope for its powers to exceed what a club should have.
I'm going to stick to my guns - this transfer will not happen. He's an attention-seeker that has taken this further than even he originally intended but he just isn't going to go to Ligue 1; he'll have a revelation during his "thought-clearing" in London that he wants to stay at Barcelona after all.
