I'm beginning to think we're only going to buy one defender and a striker. I hope it's Tudor, but I think it will be Hofland. Let's hope that the scouts see something in him that we don't. Of course the good news in such a scenario would be that buying one one defender would concievably free up the funds necessary to buy a top notch, pacy striker like Djibril Cisse, probably in the 15-20m range. Tristan would also be a good choice, in about the 22-28m range.
I don't think we'll spend much on a defender because when/if we get a fully fit Wes Brown on form and merge him in with O'Shea next season we'll have one of the best defences around and they could play together for years.

IMHO (and i am being 100% honest here) it does occur to me that United owe us a beating after our 5 wins in-a-row and law of averages would suggest that you're due a win over us so if the CL semis were played as ONE OFF matches and not over 2 legs, i'd be more worried.
But i feel over 2 legs, the better side generally wins and IMO thats Liverpool ATM.
This is why i feel we'll get to the CL final.
IF we get past Bayer (which i hope & think we will) and IF you get past depor (which i also hope and think you will), i believe it's certainly possible that you may beat us in one of the 2 legs, however overall, i think we'll win the tie.
You have more CL experience than us and if we'd drawn another side who does (eg Madrid, Depor, Bayern M etc) i feel that the experience would take its toll and we'd probably lose, but against Man Utd, it's just another game, since we play you at least twice a season anyway, so your CL experience wouldn't prove the decisive factor.
But we'll see...i REALLY do hope we play you in the semis as it would be great for english football to have a guaranteed finalist.
