Read somewhere that Kelly Cates might be a target. She would probably be hard to extract from Sky even if she wanted it, but would be a massive upgrade on Lineker imo.

He's awful, I keep seeing this opinion of him but I just don't see it.
He's incredibly annoying and there's nothing excellent about his presenting.
I quite like him on the radio, can take or leave him on the tv and it’s weird him being on Sky because I associate him with Aunty.
I haven't watched MOTD in years. What put me off is I watched a match live (it wasn't United) and then seen the highlights on MOTD and they gave the complete opposite impression on how the game went.
He's even worse on the radio.

Needs to be someone wholesome with a warming presence. Find it difficult to think of a presenter that could do the job in the modern era that fits the requirement but basically a younger version of Des Lynam.

They might go a different direction as they will want to tap into a streamers demographic, mainly because you can get the goals on socials instantly.

Aye I guess it would be fairly unlikely unless he changed his name to Jennifer White. BBC would be all over him then!
They need to bring it forward if they want more viewers, but then it would clash with the news so I guess they won't. I would watch it almost without fail if it was on for an hour at 9pm, but I've always been a busy body with my weekend and never make it past 10.30 on a Saturday, and especially a Sunday.

Yeah exactly, I mean he's the obvious stand out candidate, he's done a superb job on MOTD2 - if you're talking about the best candidate, it's clearly him. Politics might be the wrong term but surely it's his to turn down unless they want to make a certain statement with the appointment.
