Awesome. Will wait for that.
Basically, the same parent premise - You start from one country and can pick from a bordering country with one free pass to switch continents, same max 2 country rule.
However, last time we picked players who were born in the country we landed in. But this time, we pick players based on their club careers in any professional league played in that country. Only their club performances while playing in the league of that nation would count. Can extend this to include NT performances of the player while he was a part of the league in the country being picked from, though that would be complicated during tournament.
e.g. I start at France and pick Neymar - so he will be judged on his performances for PSG and nothing to do with Santos or Barca. Then, I move to Spain and pick Luis Ronaldo - so only his performances for Madrid and Barca count and none of Inter etc.
Remember, we had the three league draft which had players based on league performances in three specific leagues. This would be a difficult version of that as everyone would have players representing 6 different leagues in the team.
I was thinking of a Battleship draft, where the mod has a excel file with about A-Z and 26 columns with players in some cells, criteria in some cells, penalty criteria in some cells etc.
Looks like a bit too much effort for the mod though, so I pass. Just in case anyone else wants to run this...
- Every round managers make 2 choices (e.e. A16, F24) in private and at the end mod announces the results.
- If someone else hits on same box later, they "steal" the player from manager who got him previously.
Board is bigger. You'd probably have 676 (26x26) boxes when all you need is 208 (16 teams x 13 players each) boxes. There will be overlaps and players moving around, but not all the time.Wouldn't you end up with the players constantly changing with 32 picks each round you'd eventually use all the boxes surely?

Just an idea that came to me so just gauging response before putting a proper thread together.
Would people be interested in a squad draft than ran over a good chunk of the season?
Basic premise is that all managers would pick a squad of 23 and then games would take place once a week in a league format to determine who has built the best squad over a full season.
Thinking 5 injuries a week at random to keep teams changing most weeks, and a degree of flexibility built into the squad building.
I'd want to run it basically in the background whilst other drafts are going on so would not be full in depth games like usual, but rather a committee with each person having a game or 2 to judge each week.
Should be something quite easy to run once we are past the drafting phase.
Sounds like a good idea.. Maybe we should do it with current players?

Should do random injuries and suspensions to make it more interesting and bring a bit of unpredictability. This way it won't get boring with the same lineups every game. Perhaps make a bigger squad too.Just an idea that came to me so just gauging response before putting a proper thread together.

I can help if needed
@P-Nut How would you go about picking players? Auction would give you the choice for more star players or a more rounded squad. It could though be chaos bidding for a 23 man squad. You could do snake picks using the Peaches and a Goat draft values and just modify the budget. It gives the ease of snake but with a budget constraint. We would though have to give a starting value to Marcelo unlike last time and anyone else who was drafted for peanuts that we missed last time
