Next 7 league fixtures - acceptable points total?

Probably the three trickiest away games we will get in that period, so I would honestly say 12 points would be decent.
 
Whenever such threads are made, we lose more points than anticipated. These type of threads for some reason jinx our team.

2 points from the big away games. I wouldn't be happy with losing 2 of 3. 3 points against Wolves. And 7 from the home games. So 12+ points.

I reckon we'll get more points than predicted on this particular occasion
 
12-14pts would be good in my opinion, should be looking to win all three home games and Wolves away, then see what we get can from the other three away fixtures.
 
Have to say I think 12 points is optimistic. 14 is borderline mental. That’s just 1 loss and 2 draws from about as hard a run of 7 fixtures as we’ll ever get. Top four (at least?) form from a new manager who inherited a mid table squad and hasn’t signed a single player. Madness.

I feel like we have to get one win out of Liverpool, City and Arsenal, the away form against top teams has been horrendous and we need to show that we can make progress on that front. Also we shouldn't drop points against Bournemouth, Wolves or Forest.

So I'm going 13 is fine, with the caveat that we see a progression in style and intensity in that time.
 
Let's hope City continue their downward spiral.

Yeah I'd be surprised if we get anything more than 10-12pts. We're not a stable team yet so I'm not sure why people are expecting consistent form, beyond optimism that is.
 
Just win tomorrow, then the next 5 look easy. Then beat Liverpool at Anfield and so will the next 18.
 
12pts should be the minimum expectation out of those games. With 15pts being the maximum I’d say.

Beat the ones around us and then one of City, Arse and Pool.

Win them all and are we in the title battle?????

Yup. I kind of don’t like shitting on optimism. God knows it’s been in short supply for a very long time. But the converse of all this unrealistic optimism will be a load of hysterical toy chucking when reality bites. And that will be kind of grim.
 
Add in the cup games for context and next 10 total:
  1. Arsenal away (league)
  2. Forest home (league)
  3. Plzen away (Europa)
  4. City away (league)
  5. Spurs away (league cup)
  6. Bournemouth home (league)
  7. Wolves away (league)
  8. Newcastle home (league)
  9. Liverpool away (league)
  10. Arsenal away (FA Cup)
3-4 days between every game until the gaps from Newcastle to Liverpool and Liverpool to arsenal is basically full weeks. My guess is 5 wins, 2 draws and 3 losses across all competitions, with us getting knocked out of the 2 domestic cups.
 
I just hope we go to Arsenal and Liverpool and put in a performance. Been too many games there in recent years where it has turned into a calamity.
 
13pts would be a very decent out come with these fixtures. Only ones I see us maybe losing are Arsenal, City and Liverpool but I think we have it in us to get at least a draw or 2 somewhere in them 3 games.
 
10 points. Winning home games and maybe one draw from those away games.

I just hope to see improvements in big matches. Even if we got beaten soundly, how Amorim and the squad will react.

I just can't see us losing all three of those away games that would be disastrous for amorim
 
Would be happy with double figures - win three of the four easier games on paper and then hopefully pick up some points against those 3 very difficult away games.

Barring something completely unexpected, we're not going to suddenly jump from being second best to Ipswich and relying on a deflected goal to stop being penned in our own half by Everton, to outplaying basically any of the teams on that list.

My hope is by the Bournemouth game, Amorim has a better idea what his best team is, the players are more used to how to work in the system, and the performances start to look a bit more coherent. Then if we get positive results in the three games before Liverpool...whatever happens vs Liverpool happens and we can start to push on from there. 10 points with the results in the right places and wins in the Europa league in between can end up looking pretty positive.

Our forwards have 8 goals in 3 games under Amorim. You have to go back 9 games under ETH for the same total from them, and 5 of those were against Barnsley. Take that game out of the equation and our forwards didn't manage 8 goals under ETH this season at all. If that change in trend continues it does give us a much better chance of winning games where we still have lots of ironing out to do.
 
Can't see us getting much away at Arsenal or Liverpool just now, but with City in meltdown we could reasonably nick a point there, maybe even do them. Probably win 3/4 of the other games, draw one. 11-13 points.
 
We'll lose to arsenal and Liverpool.
Probably also to city whose form will undoubtedly recover in time for us

I fancy us to win the rest but might slip a draw somewhere

Jesus that is an insanely hard run of fixtures, my hope would be to win our home games + Wolves. Any other points are a bonus between Arse, Shitty and Pool. So i'll call 11+ points acceptable.
