Newcastle fan Michael Oliver is our ref tomorrow

A Newcastle fan being paid (probably) by the Newcastle owners (probably) to referee a game is their backyard.

For me this is much worse than the lino swinging his elbow at Robertson.

Nothing dodgy here at all, I'm sure it's fairly common for the owners of a PL club to hire a PL ref for an exhibition match. I'm sure he's only getting a token fee, probably just enough for his travel and accommodation. He'll just be there for the experience no doubt.

One of the best refs in Europe. If the Saudis have serious ambitions of becoming a global footballing powerhouse they should do everything they can to hire him permanently.

Didn't know it was him. Until I see proper replays of the 2 penalty shouts, I'm going to assume he's screwed us over. Again.
It really was strange that we didn't get replays of the first two claims. My first impressions were that the first was a foul but just outside the box and the second probably wasn't a foul, but I really want to see replays to actually know for sure. The third did hit Young's (?) hand but don't think it was a pen either.

My stream was messing up at the time but what about the Rashford claim in the second half? From what I saw the defender just bundled him to the ground without coming close to the ball and it looked a definite penalty, but like I said my stream was cutting in and out so could be wrong.

Didn't he refuse to give Kovacic clear red card few weeks ago too? It's pretty logical why would he be biased towards City, why would is he allowed to ref their games?
