She has been raised as a girl and sees herself as such - clearly the athletics bodies are entitled to make checks and decisions based on the outcome, but this is a young girl we are talking about here. All of these discussions and decisions should have been conducted in private as,after all, she is not being accused of cheating. I feel really sorry for her.
Agreed, I feel extremely sorry for her. As far as I can tell she has a vagina so on the surface she's a woman, and that's what she has always considered herself.
Unfortunately, it just wouldn't be fair on the other women to have to compete with someone with such a huge advantage. As such, the times she set should be reset and the runner-up should get a gold medal, but Semenya should be allowed to keep the medals she has won up to this point. Obviously she can't compete against the women anymore.
