I think it looks great and love the overall concept, it's about time we had not only a stadium but whole area around it to enhance the match day experience and bring in tourists etc.

Everyone will laugh at it and say it's ridiculous but when it's finished and the media are lapping it up and other clubs are seeing the money we are generating from it all they'll be sick as dogs.

The same architects are building an identical stadium in Maroco for the 2030 final
Old Trafford, Anfield, Highbury, Ibrox, Hampden, Stamford Bridge and Goodison Park all shared similarities as well when they were built. Same architect. Arguably there's more similarities between those old stadiums compared to our new one and the one in Maroco.

That's by far the ugliest stadium design I've seen. Looks a circus mixed with something we'll see in that Saudi world cup.

So is this decided now? When will they start building the thing?

Or have they put all the money on architects, videos and presentations just to get a public response?

Why is everyone so sceptical these days, why does everything have to have some sort of hidden agenda?

Looks very cool. My worry was that we'd end up with a cookie cutter, generic stadium, but that's thankfully not the case here.

My prediction is they'll name it the Wharfside Stadium, but with naming rights it'll be known as INEOS Stadium.
Somewhere between the names Bridgewater Stadium and Fatty Shaw's Cake Emporium would be my preference.

It's like they didn't even try something different. "We've got this tent design we're doing in Morocco, granted - appropriate for the setting but why don't we use it for Manchester as well? Feck it, put some spikes in it and call it a day. That will be millions of pounds for the plans, thank you!"

My guess is that you’re going to see more and more of those style stadiums. It won’t be a style only decision, it’s likely to be down to cost and availability of materials, logistics, ease of construction, durability, ongoing maintenance cost and ease etc etc.

A metric feck tonne of research and planning goes into these designs and learning are carried onto the next project.

We have no money for players, we are making hard working normal wage earners redundant but we can build a brand new £2B stadium without the owners putting in a penny or the debt being reduced. The debt will just increase. This is what happens when meglomanics become owners of football clubs. Radcliffe wont care if it bankrupts the club, he will have retired or be dead in five years. The club will be paying the mortgage on it for decades. They should have done this when we were at the top of the game not when we are in decline.

Maybe they'll get Jassim to fund it through naming rights. Qatar Airways stadium or something.

It looks fecking horrendous. Always amazes me how a panel of intelligent people can be so out of touch.

High ticket prices will happen right away. Novelty wears off after the 3rd season. Around the 5th season the cries for Old Trafford will echo from all over.

When it's gone it's gone. Forever

People will miss the day trippers and Asian tourists when the corporate crowd takes over.

It won’t be sponsored by INOS when they can sell the rights.

Yeah, not the same situation, though Our new stadium has a very distinctive and common design.
The net covering the stadium.
The stadium you mention don't have a common distinctive design, they just look alike.

Is Man United's £2bn 'New Old Trafford' design a COPYCAT? Club's former PR man makes a VERY pointed remark about similarities to Morocco's 115,000-seater 'tent' World Cup stadium

Concerning that there aren't any solid answers on how this will be funded, given the club is in a dire financial environment. Debt has been mentioned, which is regenerating a problem we already have.

Wouldn't mind giving naming rights. While it was great that we had our own name for the stadium, it's an easy way to make a lot more money and we need it.

I'm guessing it's the most efficient way to incorporate a shit load of solar panels. But how useful will they be in Manchester where there isn't any sun?

How much did Barca get for Nou Camp rights?

Guys, why are any of us moaning, this is incredible, personally I love the devil trident idea, forget all the idiots from other clubs talking Bs they are all just jealous although can’t see this opening until 2031 at the earliest and pretty sure we’ll play at the existing stadium until the new one is built.

All we need now is a team fit to play there, so best we start phasing out 80% of the current squad and then making sure players like Chido, Heaven, Dorgu, Mainoo, Amad, Biancheri, Collyer, and Garnaucho should be told in no uncertain terms terms, sign up to a new contract for next 5-6 years.

This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for some young emerging players out there plus the ones I’ve mentioned to become the catalysts for another great United Era, guys just imagine 90,000 Partisan mad United fans roaring the team on and creating an atmosphere of pure fear to opposing players.

Don't know but googled and it says 310m USD for just 4 years.

Edit: Sorry that also includes shirt sponsors. Going through an Athletic article it says 15 mil GBP per season is a realistic amount.

I don't think of the red devils or the trident as symbolizing Man Utd so it's feel wholly apt but still I like the design.

There's only so much creativity and individuality can be applied to a bowl design.

How much did Barca get for Nou Camp rights?
Probably not the best benchmark, since it's an old, established stadium that everyone continues to refer to as "Camp Nou" regardless of sponsorship.

Our naming rights for the new stadium should be worth quite a bit more.

Spotify reportedly pay Barcelona £4.3m per year for 'Spotify Camp Nou' (although this is apparently increasing to €20m per year). Emirates pay Arsenal £4m a year for naming rights to their stadium

Dont City get around 40m per year from Etihad from the naming rights of their stadium?
