The tent looks stupid, and everyone is poking fun at it. Ruins an otherwise interesting design. New Trafford will take time getting used to, but is a fine name.
Who cares, once it finishes they'll all be jealous of it.

I expect the Glazers will sit tight through this process as the clubs value should increase substantially.

Also reminds me of the Munich Olympic stadium (Bayern's previous)

The "tent" there is actually solar panels, I assume United's will be too.

I don't think so.

There may be corperate tickets at that rate, which there is already. But season tickets prices, im sure, will be pretty consistent to what they are now.

What will be interesting though is if the % of season tickets increases, decreases, or stays the same.

There are 49k season ticket holders now. Does that mean there will be 49k going forward (half the new stadium)? Or will it go up proportionally?
The price of a Season Ticket and 'ordinary' individual tickets will go up. I predict, £60ish will be the cheapest ticket going forward. I think they'll aim to get number of season ticket holders slightly but not too much, maybe around 55k. They'll want to keep a high number of ST holders because that's guaranteed income in one go.

The other 40,000 or tickets will go on sale with maybe a third of those being hospitality areas.

The other thing they might do is bring in catertgory pricing for matches. A "big 6" game might become a lot higher than say, Wolves or Leicester at home. They're getting rid of the away ticket cap from next season so that's certainly possible now.

Looks brilliant and terrible all at the same time. Overall I think I like it tbh.
That's how I feel as well. There are some angles where it looks great, but then other angles where it really doesn't. Of course that's just in the mock-up, so in reality it might swing more one way or the other.

It's definitely unique though, which is something I was hoping for. This specific version I'm still not quite sure how I feel, but I'm cautiously optimistic.

So is this decided now? When will they start building the thing?

Or have they put all the money on architects, videos and presentations just to get a public response?

The scale model actually looks better and more stadium-like that the concept images.
I think I like it - it’s definitely very exciting. Will be quite something to see huge lumps of stadium floating down the canal and being hoisted into place.

It won’t be long until we are yet again the envy of every other club in the UK and I can’t wait for it.

Pretty sure they got the public response when they floated the idea around last year. This seems pretty official.

Yep, I mentioned somewhere above that it looks like San Mamés inside Munich's Olympic Stadion.

I might have been a tad hasty.

Watched the video over and over again.

now i get the idea behind the ‘tent’ and ‘trident’

Yeah feck it, that looks spectacular.

Just a pity it doesnt look like the original OT playing surface will be maintained for posterity.
The old seats will probably be packaged as souvenirs and sold by the club store. As they should be, a nice reminder for the old fans who frequented Old Trafford.

The pitch, sadly cannot be done in the manner of say, the old Texas Stadium when the Dallas Cowboys moved to their new home - they cut the old artificial turf into star shaped sections and sold them to fans (the star being the logo of the team & Texas). That was a great idea and no doubt raised a fair bit of cash. United will sell the seats from OT, surely...but the pitch could be transported, perhaps forming part of one of the garden areas surrounding the new complex?

Looks very cool. My worry was that we'd end up with a cookie cutter, generic stadium, but that's thankfully not the case here.

My prediction is they'll name it the Wharfside Stadium, but with naming rights it'll be known as INEOS Stadium.

will we be playing at old trafford until its finished or will we have a temporary home?

It's like they didn't even try something different. "We've got this tent design we're doing in Morocco, granted - appropriate for the setting but why don't we use it for Manchester as well? Feck it, put some spikes in it and call it a day. That will be millions of pounds for the plans, thank you!"

I don't think it should be a worry to be honest. Naming rights and the revenue it will pull in should make it quite easy to pull off.

I'd be very surprised if the net cost of this would even come close to the revenue it will generate.
I hear you, in the long term it will pay for itself but do we have the financial space to fund it now? What's the plan and how will it affect first team operations? After completion I know it will pay itself off within 15 or 20 years, if we are being conservative but I am worried about the nuts and bolts of the funding, since it seems we are beginning new construction immediately.
