New game for the PC?

Hello caftards.. Well over the recent few weeks I have started to play a bunch of games on my computer.. I don't play online as the speeds back here just suck!

So considering that I have recently played, Finished and thoroughly enjoyed games like Assassins Creed, COD4, Command & Conquer etc... Which is the next game(s) that I should take up? Mind you I can't play online and I am on a PC.. I have a great graphics card, RAM & PS2 controller so that will not be a problem! I presently have my eyes on Max Payne 2 & Hitman 2.. But have not played either of those franchises earlier.. So kindly be nice enough to give me a few suggestions...

Well I like realistic games.. period games (like Assassins Creed), FPS (only the realistic war ones! no fantasy games!) sports (but for that I normally play PES8), any strategy game will be cool too.. thanks..

Ahh alright but between these 2? Road to Hill 30 or Earned in blood? or are both not good enough? Hell's highway is coming out on the PC TODAY! So I will probably have to wait a week or two.. Till then can you suggest something else?

New Games coming out on the PC

Well I just found out that Bully: Scholarship Edition is going to come out on the Pc on the 21st of October! which is great news as I never really got a chance to play it!

Also Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 Release Date: Oct 28, 2008

Followed by Need for Speed Undercover Release Date: Nov 17, 2008 (completely unrelated but has anyone seen the new fast and the furious trailer?)

Grand Theft Auto IV Release Date: Nov 18, 2008

FIFA 09 just came out today in Australia, not too sure when it'll be out in India though. But you're probably waiting to play PES instead.

What kind of computer are you running though? Is it good enough for pretty much anything? If so, you could try Crysis Warhead.

Nope couldn't find any new age of empires! How was that NFS? I only heard bad things about it! Is story mode any good?

Yep waiting for PES.. But will try Fifa this year.. Been hearing good things about it... So will give it a go...

2.53 Ghz, 2 mb ram, 300GB HD, Nvidia geforce 8500 GT, 22" LCD monitor, PS2 controller via USB.. I can basically play any game... Isn't Crysis a fantasy game? with like monsters n shit! thats all too unrealistic for me...

As for Crysis, after the original Crysis the community had voiced their disapproval about aliens, and in Crysis Warhead, guess what? More aliens.

Stay away from Crysis then.

Nope its a dual core! I would never have any use for a quad core considering my usage is only a/v, games, internet, downloading load of shit etc.. If there is one place where I would upgrade it would be RAM.. and that can be upgraded in a jiffy!

So Crysis and most other are a no go for me!

About Rome Total War, don't bother with the expansion pack. It takes away all the fun about ROME Total War. Unless you want to be a barbarian horde...

Instead, look for the many good mods for the original Rome Total War out there. If you're into realism you should try Rome Total Realism (duh).

I like the expansion. I don't really see how it takes all the fun out of it :confused:
 
Hey thanks a bunch guys but can you please tell me how I could get these expansion packs? I mean do I have to purchase them? or are they made by the users for the users!
 
You have to BUY expansion packs; there have been two, Barbarian Invasion and Alexander.

Mods are made by the community and are free to download. If you're looking for mods, try the forums at twcenter.net or rtw.heavengames.com

Are these mods necessary? The total realism mod that you mentioned earlier has the 6.2 version just out.. But people are saying that the Europa Barbaroum mod is WAY better than Total Realism one! What I want to know is do they drastically improve the game?

Try Company of Heroes for a decent strategy game

Medieval Total War and Rome Total War are nothing compared to the original Shogun Total War btw :drool:
 
My suggestions:

Company of Heroes

Medieval Total War - good, I also liked the expansion pack. The expansion is so massive I think it has 4 more campaigns, I've only tried the Brittania one.

Football Manager Live is starts at the end of the month, should be interesting to see how it works.

I liked Battlefield 2142 but not everyone else did.
 
Europa Universalis III (with the Napoleon's Ambition and In Nomine expansions)

Best strategy game I've ever played. Looking forward to Hearts of Iron III.

Speaking of Paradox games EU: Rome was a bit shit.

Just got it and started Playing it.. its a good game! Thanks for that! Any others?
 
Assassin's Creed is absolutely dire. All show and no go, as they say.

However if you fancy trying something with an engaging setting which offers infinitely more gameplay (although it is fantasy) try Oblivion.

Agree with your comments on Assassin's Creed. Although I also think Oblivion is highly overrated.

COD4 is fairly pointless if its not played online the single player is fun but extremely short lived

If you like RTS though try World in Conflict (good online and single player)
 
Dead Space is out today. Got a better score than Farcry an Fable on gamespot. Can't remember if it is out on PC mind, looks mint though.
 
Toss up between Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3 imo... i've heard raving reviews (from people not websites) about the AI and immense gameworld of FC2, but i've been waiting for FO3 for like 8 years so i'm getting that.

And picking up FM next month of course.
