New full-back if Brown and O'Shea go?

Come on, we need better than that. 20 or so games at full-back for the reserves three years ago? How about we keep the 30 year old bloke who has made nearly 400 Manchester United appearances and has proved time and again that's he far better than merely ''cover'' for both full-back positions. His name is John O'Shea and it would be a fecking odd decision to sell him.

Calm down. It's SAF who's the one willing to sell him, there's nothing wrong with trying up rationalise it.

He can cover the right back well. Anything more you'll be pushing it.

I think we got the cover needed to go into the new season without having to worry, even with the twins' physical weaknesses in mind.

How many appearances did Fabio have last season?

Havent a fooooking clue big lad.....

I don't think it's that odd to sell O'Shea. He's a very expensive backup. I'm a bit surprised he might accept their terms though.

Getting money for backup players in their thirties is rarely a bad thing.

I think with O'Shea, we have accepted the offer and told O'Shea it is his decision. I doubt SAF wants him to go, but he is doing the proper thing and giving an experienced and loyal player one last chance of playing regular first team football.

I honestly don't think he will go. I think it will drag out until early July when the players get back and JOS and SAF will have a chat and then he will stay.

I think Rafael/Fabio + Evra/Evans is sufficient.

Evans is not good enough going forward. I hope Fabio is played at left back so in the future we have both the twins running down the wings. Right now we have Rio, Vidic, Smalling and Evans playing at center back. If we lose O'Shea, then Jones and Rafael at right and Evra and Fabio at left back.

Without O'Shea we are looking too light. The twins are always good for an injury, and suddenly you're down to one specialist full back.

Yes I think we can safely forget about de laet.

I'm not thinking this would be a major purchase especially as it would be unplanned but there is a possibility we would accelerate our interest in a young full back this summer. An izaguirre or someone more obscure perhaps.

Has Jones ever played at full back?
