Netflix UK arrives.

Basically, it hides your IP address and tricks the webpage you are on to think you are from that country. I use such a website, and from Ireland I can use the bbc iPlayer, the american networks catch-up websites, Netflix US etc. Anywhere where I get the message "sorry, not available in your country" I can bypass it by turning on the software you download an pay €3 for a month.

Intresting may look into this, the netflix working good for me at the moment but the UK content isn't that impressive, I hear in the US there is a much better selection.

Is there no way to do it for free? i know you can download IP blockers for free, but i amagine this is different.

Not really up for paying ANOTHER load of money a month for a service i rarely use.

VPN will display the ip of the network it is setup on. So if the Ip address and vpn is in USA and you connect to it from UK you will appear to websites as connecting from USA and not UK.

You can always go look for proxy servers from a certain country and use those. Those will be free ;)

Mr. Anderson, could you provide me with the link of the service you use. I might get a vpn for Uk to watch free games and get free commentary. Thanks in advance :)

I signed up with the free month Facebook deal. Struggled to find anything I fancied the first time on it and I looked at everything. Not good really. They did have 24 but only the first 4 seasons. Most of the movies were old or shite or both. I can see it being good for stoners who will just want something to Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime at though.

If they keep adding it could get better. But at the moment if you're into movies you may as well pay for Sky Movies and get up to date stuff as soon as it's available online as well as on your TV. The extra cost if you already have Sky is worth it when you compare what you're getting.

I signed up for netflix the other month. Its alright but lovefilm has a much bigger selection of films and it doesn't seem to get updated very often. It has quite a few TV shows though, I've started getting into Arrested Development and going through all the old Peep Show episodes.

Genuinely didn't know that this had been bumped.

Signed up to the trial month and the selection of films on there is shocking. Obviously it's not going to have everything, but there's such a small collection of films that would be worth watching. It's silly - for instance they have Saw V and Saw: The Final Chapter, but not Saw 1-4. So far I've watched Supersize Me and Green Street - the streaming quality has been terrific.

I need to find some quality films on there though. What ones are there? I found this website (here) but that seems to just list ones from the US version - none of those are on the UK one.

Some of the stand up on Netflix is pretty good. It's got Louis CK, Jim Jeffries and a few others on there.

The TV shows (24, Breaking Bad, South Park, Dexter, etc) are much better than the shitty films it has.

Also, I really dislike the menu system and and the fact there seems to nowhere to see what is "coming soon".

They seemed to have a injection of new content a week before i left so i assumed there were going to be regular updates but seems like i was wrong, I do prefer Netflixs PS3 streaming app over Lovefilms but lovefilm definately has the advantage is selections.

Some great films on there, google netflix uk imdb or best netflix films if you are stuggling. There are some great films on there no doubt. You cant just expect to pick a film out of all of them though, or based on their recommendations.

I ended up signing up for Lovefilm's free month. Not many films that interest me. Will try netflix tomorrow when I get it, does it have a larger selection of TV series than Lovefilm?

I've been diapointed by the amount of movies, only watched Blitz and The Mechanic both with Statham and both decent. it has got me into Breaking Bad though watched the first 2 seasons

Same for me. If you can get a US VPN, the third season is on there too and there is a lot more TV shows/films on the US one compared to the UK. You'll certainly feel it is worth every penny.

Is this getting any better yet? I know people weren't impressed with the initial content...

Considering making the switch from LoveFilm but not sure...

Whoops, only seen this now. I'll PM you the link to what I use :)

UK Netflix Doesn't work for me over the proxy I use to access the BBC iPlayer with the PS3. I suppose it must have some way of detecting the proxy, yet it works fine from the computer itself. Maybe a port needs forwarding to the proxy? Well, it's a bit weird, as the computer uses a VPN proxy to get the UK IP address, but it also then runs a web proxy itself through which the PS3 gets its UK IP address.

Anyone else tried this?

the VPN I use, it tells me if the PS3 is configured through the router (or if you have it sorted through the cable, it doesnt matter either way) you must restart the Netflix app. Here is the example it gives:

•Restart the PS3 before using the service
•If you had Canadian Netflix installed before, hold "Start" and "Select" buttons on the controller at the same time while starting Netflix app on PS3. It will allow you to reset Netflix settings and activate it at Netflix.com

Has anyone tried to use Netflix on a Toshiba TV or blu-ray player?

I have a Toshiba 40RL858B TV and a Toshiba BDX1250 blu-ray player and I cannot find any way to get netflix and I'm going to smash my TV....any help much appreciated.

It has Toshiba places, but it's a load of crap, and I can't seem to find anything on the Blu-ray player even though it's connected to the internet.

Help....
