Did well today, just thought like the rest of the midfield started to look leggy as the game went on....
 
His passing was good today. Several decent cross-field passes to Young in space on the right.

When he was in miles of space he seemed to get the ball stuck under his foot several times, but recovered in time because he was under no pressure.

Did well defending at the far post at one of their corners.
 
Thought he was very good. Almost controlling the game. Was able to pick out passes in between the lines.
 
Really good today, his game in a while. Superb on the ball, played good passes forward and defended well. More of this please.
 
It was a so so game for him. At one moment he was slipping into the Jose Matic mode. He never looks behind him or know what is going around. A lot of times in the first half Young was completely free on the right without a Brighton player in sight yet Matic continues to play the short passes into congested areas.
We definitely need a good upgrade on him.
 
What he does, he does very well and better than any other option we have in our team. Which is why ole and co didn’t even question his position in the starting line up.

Brilliant performance tonight, ran tackled passed. Was everywhere. Top class
 
He was ok, couldn't seem to keep track of Ramsey who was his man and wasn't as good on the ball as in the last game.
 
Becoming more apparent that while he can pass it forward well enough, he really struggles against mobile midfielders. Couldn't track his runners at all tonight, we need a competent back up so he can have a rest every now and then, he's basically been playing nonstop this season.

Agree. As good as he has been with more forward passes, he does lose his man too regularly for me in a defensive situation. I'm not knocking the guy, I think his legs just don't quite work as well as they used to.
 
Think we need to bring in somebody that would allow him to have taken a break from this game.

He's done well since ole has come in (much improved) but I don't think he will be any better
 
I'm genuinely shocked at how much better he's playing right now. It just shows he really was coasting through matches before under Jose.

It's funny, everybody thought he was jose's man but he was sandbagging worse than everybody. I think he wanted him gone just as much.

I had to rub my eyes a few times when I saw him sprinting out to Ozil to shut him down. He's finally playing like the Matic we expect.

I agree though we desperately need another DM to challenge him. He can't play to a high level every week without a rest.
 
Had a decent game, lost Ramsey too often for my liking though. If we continue to play in this manner, we really need to upgrade him with someone more mobile.
 
Another very good performance. Matic has been a good signing, and played well for most of his time here. I don't understand why he gets so much stick and lots of people talk like he should be replaced.

My main gripe with him is his lack of awareness and inability to correctly judge when he can and can't 'skill' past players. He has had the ball stolen from behind him at least a dozen times this season. You also see him frequently jog back instead of busting a gut. There was an instance last game where it was clear as day that the ball from the left was going to be cut back to the only arsenal player in the box, and he just makes no attempt at all to intercept the pass and walks behind the arsenal player who ended up fluffing his shot anyway I believe. Thankfully he has improved considerably since OGS took over.
 
Man Utd 2:2 Burnley
Was it me or was he actually quite quick tonight (or are Burnley just slow?) Either way, I thought he was really good.
 
Had an excellent game. Played mostly in the final third and his ability to hold the ball in tight spaces really shone.
 
It will be probably be overlooked by most as we conceded two goals and dropped points, but he was the best player on the pitch tonight. Excellent second half.
 
Our best player I thought, his dribbling is so good in tight spaces. His form since Ole took over has been amazing to watch.

He was very good for long spells under Jose. People just never appreciated him and only choose to focus on when he was having a poor patch and also on his slow pace.

Matic is one of my favourite players. Massively underrated. He often reminds me of Bousquet.
 
He was by far our best player I thought, didn’t put a wrong foot the whole match.
That little dribble when he went past 3 players with such little amount of space was fantasic.
 
Apart from his couple Nemanja Messi moments he still lacked the ability to ping scholes/pogba/Carrick like passes from his quarterback role. He’d be so much more complete with that
 
Worried that he's getting overplayed. We really need him in midfield knitting the play together and we have lots of vital games coming up and in March. Fred really needs to step up and do his part, what a waste of a signing so far
 
He had a good game, he's being overplayed currently. But I am not sure we can afford to rest him vs Leicester, a tricky game.
 
Need more respect from our fanbase because i have been seeing rival fans calling him world class compared to what they have and would gladly swap.

Has somebody seen Sander Berge play? From the youtube videos he look like young right footed Matic, could be a good replacement and won't cost more than 30 m.
 
We should be playing him in the league only. Once a week is easily manageable and that's by far the most important competition. Our squad can deal with the cups.

Has to do a job for 2 midfielder because Pereira stinking the place out. I saw him busting his guts trying to cover for Pereira getting outrun in Burnley first chance.
