Probably our hardest worker today. Lots of touches, lots of passes, lots of winning the ball away, also lots of giving the ball away and poor choices. But when you're working that hard to be involved in the game you're probably going to make more mistakes too.

People must try hard not to post during the the first half (I mean I do it as well) but yeah, I agree fantastic performance from the 1st minute.

Apart from that one stupid pass he's been absolutely immense, bossed the midfield today, wasn't it for Lukaku's performance he'd have been my MOTM.

Absolutely immense in the second half. This is the game when he should show it, I dont care how good he is against brighton or other poor teams, he should be more in a destruction mode like today

That was performance from the first three months of the season. Really enforced himself on the game, won the ball back a lot, and was back to feeling comfortable in striding forward or waiting to find the right pass. Probably my MotM.
Matic is quality but I sincerely hope we pay whatever it takes this summer for Savic!!
Where did that performance come from ? He played 3 games in 9 days then turns in a fierce, committed display like that when I was expecting him to be dead on his feet. The terrible pass in the first half was so out of character with the rest of his performance.

In the second half I think he remembered how he played at the start of the season and decided to do more of that.
My man of the match today, maybe it was to prove a point against his old club or Pogba and McTominay were playing decent to free him up a bit more.

Aye, makes no sense to say a player looks tired after a game in which he absolutely destroyed another top side.
Bad first half like with many of our other players but grew in to the game and played very well.

He looked fired up today in a way I've never seen him before. Probably to prove a point against his former employers. Started slow like the rest of the team but he bossed everything in the 2nd half. Best performance in ages.
It's not the second half though. He did very well individual in the first too. Second half was not only about us stepping up, but Chelsea losing steam. Kante was moved deeper as now he had a yellow card. This gives Pogba more space thus getting us to push them back more than the first. McTominay did well in marking Hazard out of the game in the second, and being disciplined (even great with the use of ball especially the key pass to Lukaku who assisted Lingard). That's impressive for a young player who was at fault for not tracking Willian for the conceded goal. He made mistake but not lost his head stay in game and turned it around.
This is a bit of the cliche saying thing like this. There are games where Matic did similar to the first half (very good), yet we as a team still struggled just like we did for majority of the first half. It's a team game. It's easy to give credit when the team gets result, but turn a blind sight for similar level of performance when we can't get result. You can said the same about Lukaku. He is not very different than the so called other big games. Today we were able to create that clear cut chance for him and he did his job
Couldn’t understand the criticism in the first half aside from the odd misplaced pass. He was winning the ball back all over the place, best performance for a long time. Looks much better in a three man midfield.
@ti vu Matic did ok in the first half and gave the ball away carelessly a few times.
