NBA Yahoo Fantasy League 12/13

I know I can't really believe it. Rockets are building for the future. Plus Harden is going to be a starter now.

Holy shit! I thought you were winding us up.

That's a damn shame for the Thunder, I was hoping they would work that out. When they signed Ibaka to a big deal the Thunder claimed it didn't mean Harden was now out of their reach, but it looks like they were wrong.

I sure hope they didn't pick Ibaka over Harden, I couldn't agree with that choice. But maybe Harden wanted a max deal and it wasn't possible even without their signing Ibaka.

I would have picked the Thunder to win the west, but not anymore. Go Lakers!

Yeah Harden wanted a max deal over the next four to five years. The Thunder offered him $55m over the next four years. Rockets are offering him the max deal.

I thought it'd start 2 hours and 13 mins from now, rather than 1 hour 13 mins. Damn those Daylight saving time.

How long would it take to complete?

I did get that far. But from there I didn't recognize the next bit. I went into 'opponents' and you can adjust your lineup but only for the week.

Hmm, I guess that's how it used to be, it's just so long since we played.

feck. Completely forgot about this. My team looks decent though, I'm lucky. Still, would have preferred pick it myself.

Remember in trades that if you take two player for one, you'll have to drop another player to take them both on. So it's more of a disadvantage than in real bb.

If you go to 'opponent' under 'my team' you can pick a date and change your team day by day.

And you have to click save, and then it takes you back to the stat page for some reason, and you have to click 'opponent' again and move to the next day and pick your line up for that day, et cetera.

Sure buddy. Doubt I'd want to trade the ROTY though ;).

Got a solid backcourt with Irving,Lawson,Lillard,Turner, George and Johnson.

Up front I have Al Jefferson and Horford, Asik, Bargnani and Favours.

Harrison Barnes and Thomas Robinson my rookie wildcards. Thoughts on my team lads?

Whoa... I was considering dropping Varejao, but he just got me 23 rebounds, 9 assists, 9 pts and 2 blocks. That's a pretty monstrous line. That'll do, Varejao, that'll do.

How long will Danny Granger be out for?
By the way how does Waivers work in this league? And whats the meaning of last 2 columns(Waivers and Move)?

Just noticed how those vultures(RDCR07 and Danny) took 2 of the 4 players from my watch list

Moves is how many players you have added during the week. Waivers is your position to add recently dropped players. For example if you are 4 on the WL and I am 1 on the WL and a player has been dropped recently. There is a three day window before you can add a dropped player. And we both want that dropped player, so we click on the 'ADD' button to add him to our roster in three days time. I will get him because I have a better position on the WL.

And you got to move quickly mate. People check this every day and could add a new player anytime. So you kinda have to keep up. But then there is always trades. If you want a player I have, then propose a trade and we can work something out.

Daaaamn, if it hadn't been for my injured players, i would've won. :(
Anyone wanting to trade, let me know.

I could be tempted. I think we should have to discuss all trades in this thread, it would save time from negotiating by PM, that way if you want to give up players you're going to get the best return as everyone will get a chance to make an offer.

I'd be interested in possibly taking one healthy and one injured player from you in exchange for two healthy players. But I'd of course want to be upgrading in overall player quality in exchange for waiting on another injured player. I have two already after all in Gordon and Rubio.

So for example I might be willing to give you my #2 pick Marc Gasol and Marcin Gortat for you're #1 pick Kobe and an injured player like Bynum or Nowitzki.

So is everyone up on how to play?

You have to move your players into the starting line up for each day of the season. Sadly there's no way to automatically put all you're best players in all the games, so you have to go to each day individually. But now they have a feature "Lineup Tools" on the right on the 'My Team' page, if you click it the first option is "Start Active Players", which moves all active players into starting positions (for that day only).

Of course sometimes you'll have more players than slots and might want to adjust which players are selected a bit from there. I find it best to do a weeks worth of schedule at a time.

And if you get a new player it resets you're starting lineups, so there's no use going ahead and fixing the whole season's lineups. Don't forget to go back through the next week or so after getting a new players and using the "Start Active Players" feature again.

 Good one GD.

You have to start low when you negotiate. ;)

But Gortat is undervalued, he's a sold 3rd/4th round pick. I'm offering a healthy 2nd and 3rd round player for a healthy 1st rounder and an injured 2nd or 3rd rounder. He's certainly not going to get a healthy 2nd and 3rd round player for an injured 2nd and 3rd round player (Bynum and Nowitzki).

I got lucky with Kevin Love to be honest. When I drafted for my other league Love was 4th pick. But in three days time, his value dropped to 16th pick I think. I was 2nd pick and I picked Durant and my next pick was Love. So essentially I got two first round picks.

Yep, if you can make the playoffs with him riding the bench for about a 1/3 of the season then you'll be dangerous in the playoffs.

I got unlucky with Gordon, he was supposed to be just about ready to play. I'm still contemplating dropping him, it's just boring to have an injured player on your team.

I can't complain too much, one injured player isn't bad at all.

Anyone wanting to trade al Harrington?
And does it work like you have to put players in who have matches, and then put them on the bench for the day they don't have any games?

Yep you have to adjust your roster everyday to switch who are playing for those who aren't. And as for Al, I doubt anyone would trade him now since he is injured. Wait for him to come back and then you can work something out.

When you go to 'My Team' it will show you the lineup for today, and you'll see you can click on the next few days as well. You definitely want to click ahead for each day of the week and press 'Start Active Players' for each day.

You do have a default starting 10 if you don't adjust, I believe each day is set to field those 10 unless you adjust it, even if you've moved players around for other days.

Danny granger is out for 3 months. What should I do? Replace him or wait?

I'd replace him. There are only 24 weeks in the entire season including playoffs [which occur in the last few weeks of the regular season] so that's about half the season. Another player with half his stats would have the same value.
