NBA 2022-2023

Yes and no. On their ability, you can expect them but on recent form ? Klay specially ? If your formula isn't working, you cannot just keep repeating it. It's pure madness
It worked in the wins, didn't work in the losses. Klay does need to stop shooting as much though when he's obviously going through a bad patch When Steph and Klay have 40 and Steph scores 32. It might be time for a rethink.

Might be the last time we get Lebron vs Steph in the playoffs. Special moments in the history of the game.

Klay shot over 40% from 3 this season. You have a style of play which you can’t just dump in the middle of the series. Also it’s not like they didn’t attack the paint but lakers played good defence
Again, what he did this season is irrelevant to his current shooting form. Are we surprised he shot this badly against the Lakers ? I know I'm not, the Klay we knew is gone sadly

Possibly the best offensive player in the game vs the best defensive player in the game in the west finals with Jokic vs Davis.

Definitely the best offensive and defensive players IMO. Should be great viewing.

It felt true at 3-1 down and it is even more true now, I see no way Warriors are getting knocked out here and even a very tiny chance that they don’t win the whole thing. They will always find a way. Maybe it’s part of me being resigned to them winning it yet again but I just don’t see them not.
Delighted to have been wrong.

First time ever that Curry doesn’t win an away game in a playoff series, then?

Delighted with this, what a way to start the weekend. Bring on Jokic.

Key will be AD and the lakers punishing Jokic on defence. Get him into every p&r action, go to AD inside, just force him to burn himself down on that end of the floor

We already know our defence can't stop him

Think the series will come down to Jokic's 3pt %. If he can draw AD out of the paint and force him to guard the perimeter more it'll open things up for everyone else.

Yep. I think Lakers need to think of a rotation to defend Jokic on the perimeter and have AD stay at the center to guard against the cuts from Gordon, MPJ etc that can create easy buckets. The question is who other than AD can guard Jokic? You need length and strength, Vanderbilt has length but maybe not strength, Lebron might be another one but he's ofcourse not the best defender now.

This will leave and open man for the Nuggets but I think they can live with Gordon taking three's rather than cutting in to an open lane.

I hope refs stay out of this one as much as possible. Still have PTSD from that cheating against the Kings in early 2000s.

The Lakers have a fantastic shot to win another chip now. I think we need to get ready for another off season of Jordan v Lebron media debates. I can see it now. "LEBRON IS THE LEADING SCORER IN HISTORY AND HE'S NOT EVEN A SCORER!! HE'S WON TITLES WITH 3 DIFFERENT TEAMS AND 4 DIFFERENT COACHES!! HE'S 38!!! THE LAKERS WERE A 7TH SEED!!!"

Not looking forward to it at all

Lakers looking locked in on defence. Looking like a team that could do things, they have great depth in their squad. Get Reaves a contract ASAP

So is it the end of the Warriors dynasty or do they run it back?

I think they're done. Steph is still great but Klay is greatly diminished and Dray is more trouble than his play is worth at this point. Surely as currently constituted it's over but I don't rule out the small possibility of them making some moves that could recharge their batteries.

I'm very curious to see what they are going to do unless they intend to fleece the Wolves.

Same. I'm not a Warriors fan per se but I like them and it would be great if they could find a way to prolong this era. But it's doubtful.

I think they're done. Whether it was the Kings or whoever, it was the Lakers obviously, they are done.

Draymond is a year older, Iggy won't be the stabilizer in the background, Poole is a mess, bench depth isn't quite good enough. And Klay was woeful when needed.

Steph is another year older too, but as long as he's healthy the Warriors will win games and be a playoff team. But a title contender, no, it's over unless they turnover the team but then that hurts their chemistry and trust.

Poole is garbage as well. Definitely the end of the Warriors dynasty. It was fun while it lasted.

Monty Williams is out in Phoenix.

Can't say it is surprising as he's done all he can with the team last year and this year.

First domino to fall in Phoenix, gotta think Ayton is next if Suns are to get some picks or get a quality wing player.

Nobody would give us anything of value for Ayton with how Monty has tanked his value. We played him like he’s Kendrick fecking Perkins on the court. Even Okogie and Landale has more plays ran for them. It’s fecking stupid. You don’t tank a max contract player value like this.

Monty is a culture guy, but he handled the Ayton situation so badly once Willie Green left.

My initial reaction was that they've picked Ayton over Monty. So I am not sure Ayton will be going anywhere.

Would an Irving for Ayton trade work assuming the Mavs could do a sign-and-trade? How would either fit into the hypothetical new team?

Are the Suns gonna trade Paul? Who would take him?

I’ll stop watching if we trade for Kyrie.

CP3 should be tradable since his contract is expiring in 2024.

Think Monty's time was up, that a new guy might salvage Ayton is just bonus

kyrie back with KD? Not sure man. Ayton on the mavs depends on who they replace Kidd with. On paper he is potentially a great fit, but only if it's 2021 Ayton and further develops from there. Mind you, considering they might lose Kyrie anyways and with nothing to show for it, it would be a good deal for them anyways

Morant flashing a gun again, what a moron.
Get this kid to a therapist asap ffs

Mmm yes. There should be teams interested in freeing up wages, though I doubt the Suns would get a big haul in exchange. Still a couple useful depth players could go a long way

I bet it is exactly what KD wants, just another team to play with Kyrie.

There ain’t no therapy for stupidity.

Especially when he isn't even from that kind of background, for some strange reason he wants to be a gangster when it's not his history and he already has money and fame. It's one of the strangest things I have seen recently.

It is ridiculous but it happens quite frequently, people with good upbringing coming into money and fame and trying to appear as something they are not. He is largely surrounded by players who came from the background he’s trying to pretend to be from, without realizing it just makes him look like a fool.

Teams will have more time and patience for him because he is a brilliant player on the court but once there are any doubts over his ability to perform, he will be out of the league very quickly because he will inevitably turn into bad influence in the later stages of his career.

You are right but it's beyond me.

It’s beyond anyone with brains. Which is why I’ve said that there’s no therapy for stupidity. The guy is a moron. That’s it. At best you could get a few years out of him, with lots of luck, where he doesn’t act too bad. But that’s about it. If I had a team, I wouldn’t go close to him. Like Kyrie.
