That was big. The Dubs have 3 games in 4 nights coming up against the Cavs, Celtics and Nets so this was a must win.
Bench was huge, Donte and Anthony Lamb especially. Lamb had a plus/minus of +36 in his 25 minutes

Of course last year when I can go to a dubs wizards game Steph is injured, Poole goes something like 1-10 from 3 and they lose: can’t go today with work and Steph drops 41 and they win 
Went to watch the Warriors-Bulls game yesterday.
Of course, Poole was terrible and then Poole/Lamb killed all the momentum at the start of the 3rd and the 4th (you are not winning a tight match if you are 4 fouls down after less than 2 minutes!). Steph was ok until the refs decided to pick on him for travel.
And then today, Steph of course goes off haha. I am yet to see him have a great game when I am watching in person.

Haha I just wrote a very similar response at the same time since I went to watch Steph yesterday! Warriors win at a decent rate when I watch them but never with Steph really going off.
I was going to go on a mini-rant 2 weeks ago about the Grizzlies being too mouthy, but to my pleasant surprise they've backed up the brash talk with an impressive win run.
In the next tier below Boston/Denver/Milwaukee but still room for improvement from most starters, so not too worried. Barring injury anything less than a WCF appearance would range from slightly disappointing to "shut the feck up all of you, don't want to see a griddy or hot quote unless you redeem yourself in a year's time"

Was watching Portland vs Denver, on the paper Portlands first five looks really solid, they have everything more or less, in offensive sense at least. Maybe switch one more defensive guy into that starting, dunno. Couldnt do much this game, MPJ having high FG, Jokic standard, shame, Lillard seems frustrated hella a lot too,
Very disappointing loss. Knew when it went to OT we were in trouble. Still, it shows when the Dubs get their game face on they can play with the best.
Tatum looked very out-of-sorts from what I watched. Despite the loss, the Warriors will probably still take some confidence from that.
Nets are a bit useless without KD, right?

I like them the most from NBA, it all started when they were the worst team or one of the worst cause I always liked rooting for underdogs.
It seems they cant get the momentum, Lue is mixing it up for the playoffs but at one time he should get something going cause if he doesnt do it and they continue with this ying yang form they wont do good in postseason. Also situation with injuries is a problem like every year so they cant get the most out of their squad depth.

The NBA need to get rid of their last 2 minute report. It doesn't change anything and just pisses people off. According to the NBA's latest effort the Dubs had 5 (5 for God's sake) incorrect calls made against them in the last 2 minutes of OT against Boston. That is pretty fecking impressive.

Feels like they're pushing the end of their championship window. The fact Ballmer is their owner means that they probably won't ever really bottom-out, however. He seems to have no issue spending whatever it takes to put a competitive team out there.
Won the second quarter 45-13, up 71-46 at half and lost to Lakers at home with the game not even slightly competitive in the final minutes. Beat that.
Please, just blow up this team. Get whatever you can for Lillard, Grant, Hart and Nurkic, tank this year, tank next year and have something to look forward to in 3-4 years.

Wizards are just a disaster of a franchise.
They are about to give Kuzma an extension. He’d normally move to a new team and find a place where he can win but if he can get $30m a year from Washington, he won’t look elsewhere, which is precisely what will happen. They will be locked down to a core of Beal, Porzingis and Kuzma at somewhere around $100m to $110m for the three of them. Lovely.
Then again I support the Blazers who will be paying similar money to a core of Lillard, Simons and Grant from next year on, so I guess I am in no position to mock them.
You know, the Lakers bring a lot of viewers in this entertainment world, they cannot be too sh*t.

Don't think I'll ever see that record broken again in my lifetime - 20 years of sheer dominance and barely any injuries and he only gets it aged 38. If he really plans to play another few years until Bronny could enter the league, it'll be regarded as borderline unbreakable. Just an insane achievement imo.

Another loss for the Lakers and it is looking increasingly unlikely that they'll win a title here. This really is Lebron's last chance to tie Magic and Kobe with a 5th title. Catching Jordan is now looking practically impossible.

Dumb move from Steph with the mouth piece but Jordan Poole can be really infuriating with his play at the end of games. Fortunately in this one he was in the right place at the right time.

There's basically zero chance of Lakers winning the title. They will probably consider it a very successful season if they make the playoffs. They face an uphill battle to make it into the play-in even, with Portland, OKC, Jazz, Wolves all hanging in there.
Only 20 last night so 158 to go. I initially thought he'd maybe try to go all out to break it in MSG but it won't happen. Their next games are:

Assuming he carries on scoring 30 per game on average, he will be breaking against Thunder or Bucks... with one special performance in-between he might actually make it in time to do it v Pelicans. I reckon doing this in front of LA fans would have more appeal.

Not sure if they will ban me for saying this, but I have to: his mother seems to be a class "A" whore. Divorced Doncic's dad to hook up with some sleezebag, who cheated her out of money. Basically she turned her back on her family because of love affair with some swindler. Crazy stuff.

They have to make the playoffs. Would be a disaster otherwise. Yeah, they do depend on Davis health, but even without him I think they are capable of reaching it.
With healty (am aware this could be oxymoron) and in-form Davis, well, anything is possible. They are 3 games behind the 4th spot which is nothing. Most importantly, they looked excellent in that short stretch before Davis got injured and Westbrook is finally giving them constantly good minutes off the bench.
They had to stay within a touching distance from the rest of the pack while Davis was out and they managed to do exactly that.
Very little chance they are able to get into top 6 so would need to go through play-in, and if they aren't at least 8th it means winning two games. They did not make the playoffs last year with this roster either. They were below .500 before AD's injury so also I don't really buy that they 'looked excellent'. Even if we are talking strictly about the very immediate period before his injury, they went 1-4 in their last 5 games. They basically had one good game against Bucks, that's literally all they had before AD went out. They started the season 2-10 with AD in the team. They actually had a better record when he went out (10-10) vs before.
Championship aspirations are just laughable. There are several teams in the West alone that will kill them in the playoffs. They are as likely to win the chip as my Blazers are.
Why? Like @Sarni said, we have no chance at the Finals or a ring this season - of course "anything can happen in the Playoffs" but nah, this roster is far from competitive imo.
The highlight of our season will be James breaking the all-time points record in a Lakers jersey, hopefully at Staples Center.
It's a very poorly constructed roster. Their championship team in 2020 made far more sense, as it was virtually the two stars surrounded by shooters and a spark plug scorer Kuzma. How they traded all of that away to get themselves into this clusterfeck I will never know. Hachimura is an all right move but it won't change their fortunes significantly, he's basically a nice scorer off the bench. I thought they were going to grab Turner and Hield from Indiana earlier in the season but seems like they were not willing to part with 2027 and 2029 picks, probably rightly so as they are going to be absolutely terrible in those years and those will be some top, top picks.
They weren't 1-4 before Davis injury, he played 7 minutes in Cavs game and didn't play against Raptors (same as Lebron).
So, it was 6-3 in that period when Davis went off with both him and LeBron being healthy. 2 of those losses came in OT against 76ers and Celtics. If you go further from that then Lebron wasn't on the court.
And then they managed to have 11-10 with Davis on the sidelines for more than a month. Start of the season was definitely bad, but since then they solved Westbrook problem and further improved on both ends of the floor showing glimpses of what they could be if they were all on the court together. They added Bryant and now even Hachimura in rotation surviving the time when Davis was out with a positive record.
Their shooting is still highly questionable and they are really bad in clutch time, but imo they absolutely should get playoffs with this team under the condition they stay healthy.
Simply don't rate the rest of the West that high (or teams that are now marginally in front of them to be precise) and rate healthy Lebron, Davis, this version of Westbrook to at least get to the playoffs. Surely, and if they can stay healthy, that's not such a big ask. The whole West aside from the Nuggets and the Grizzlies is like a yo-yo or definition of inconsistency.
I mean, let's see. Davis is back and they need to start winning... well, now.
