NBA 2019-2020

What a great deal for Pelicans yet again!

If New Orleans had the Jazz moniker, and a sexy logo, they would be such a cool team.

Baffling deal by Suns. I guess they will want to get that point guard in free agency instead. Plenty of deals tonight so far.

25 consecutive years the #8 selection did not go on to appear in an All-Star game.

All the way back to 1993 - Vin Baker - the last #8 selection to make it (did so 4x 1995-1998).

It's looking increasingly likely that the Chicago Bulls are selecting a Point Guard. I gotta say I'm hyped to for this NBA Draft

Beyond happy for Zion! You can see how much it means to him. Excited to see him in the NBA!!

Warren as a salary dump to Pacers is surprising. I guess Suns are confident they are getting a point guard in free agency, probably Russell.

RJ BABY! Very happy with this pick! I hope it is the turning point in NY for the future!

Surprised to see Garland being picked by Cleveland.

Don't know much about Hayes how good is he presumably?

Coby White welcome to the Chicago Bulls. That's a great pick and it's awesome to see Wendell Carter Jr. representing for the franchise at the NBA Draft while also welcoming Coby to the team.

I have no idea who the guy is that OKC drafted. Standard Presti.

How did we manage to get Nasir Little?!

@adexkola you got yourself a steal with that Brandon Clarke pick. Guy was mocked as a lottery pick for the last few weeks but ended up being available at 21. Him and Jackson Jr should be immense on defense.

I like how Atlanta have managed to trade for a second round pick and get Fernando. He will be a steal for them this low and they needed a center. Hunter, Reddish and Fernando is a great return.

So Denver yet again got a player who fell several positions due to injury. Bol was supposed to be top 10 before his health issues.

If he can stay healthy then he will be a great great pick.

What is your take on Culver to Minnesota and the trade?

@Eboue and @Sarni you guys followed lot of college, right? What do you make of Cam Reddish? Was touted highly after highschool but had a pretty average year in college looking at his percentages. Inefficient chucker or just a wrong fit at Duke who will flourish in the NBA?

Inefficient chucker IMO. With Williamson and Barrett as teammates against overmatched college defense he didnt perform, I have a hard time seeing him doing it in the NBA.

I like Culver, doubt that he has superstar potential but his floor is also pretty high at the same time and he will certainly be a good NBA player. The price to pay wasn’t extreme, don’t think Saric was in Minnesota’s long term plans. I do however think they were trading up to take Garland not Culver and were surprised Cavs took him despite having Sexton who realistically cannot play with Garland.

From Suns perspective it made no sense to take Cam Johnson at 11. If you are so insistent on him, he is going to be there in 20s. Trade further down and get extra assets.

Thanks, I know nothing about college basketball but if Culver isn't traded he seems to fill a lots of gaps, with his alleged good defense and abilty to initiate offenses but the lack of three pointers is worrying. Although if by some miracle the Wolves could trade Wiggins, that issue could be partially fixed in free agency.

By the way, is it usual for a prospect to be destroyed like Hachimura has been?

Knicks sign un drafted Amir Hinton who looks interesting as does Ignas Brazdeikis. Hopefully they end up being steals.

Optimistic scenario is the core injury he got surgery on later was affecting his play and that’s why he was so far behind the big 2 at Duke out of that freshman class. He goes on to rival Zion and RJ as the best player of the draft at the next level like it was thought he would initially.

Or he doesn’t get more efficient on offense and becomes just a functional NBA starter...

Are Suns deliberately trying to sabotage themselves? Apparently they aren’t going after Russell, and they don’t even have max space left after all their moves. All their moves since the draft night look dumb:

  • Trading down to take Cam Johnson (who doesn’t project to be anything more than a decent rotation wing) and Dario Saric (who is expiring) instead of just picking at no. 6 where they could have got Coby White to fill point guard need
  • Giving away no. 32 to have someone absorb TJ Warren’s deal which wasn’t even bad, to open cap space they are apparently not going to do much with. And they had to take on Baynes to move up to get Jerome so their saving is basically $5million FFS and they lose a good player over that
  • Giving away Bucks 2020 pick to move up to take Ty Jerome who is basically third project point guard after Okobo and Melton, it’s not about quantity

I don’t know what their plan is. Seems like their best bet is giving Brogdon a big offer but Bucks could match anything anyway. I don’t think going after any other point guards would get them above 30 wins next year.

And apparently nobody wants Josh Jackson. Not even for free. Not even with second round pick attached. Wow.
