Mavs bench keeps killing it. I mean Luka gets all the headlines and rightfully so, but he left the game up 9, and then the bench buried the peilicans in the 4th to the point he didn't have to come back into the game

The one game the mavs lost recently was the only one in which their bench got killed instead of killing it. That...honestly, if KP can get back to his level within the season and the chemistry with Luka improves....

Should the mavs consider trading for another star-playmaker? This might be a contender...

Heat deliver the Raptors first home loss of the season. Spo is a genius and that team is frisky, so many good players and everybody can make plays. They're what Magic thought the lakers would be last year :lol:

Not efficient last night. Had like 22 FTs at half time or something.

When both Harden and Westbrook are not efficient they can lose against any team in the league.

Sadly was not able to watch any games last night as I had a lot of work but just checked the stats on some of the games.

Luka is UNREAL, I honestly don't even know what to say anymore about this kid other then he is a legitimate MVP contender at this point.

Harden with another 50 ball but Spurs take yet another win and they seem to be on a good run.

Clippers easily dispatch the Blazers as expected, I only just saw the highlights but the Blazers shot very poorly it seemed and or kept trying to feed it too Hassan. Melo only got 9 and 6 boards, I thought he would only get 10 this game so I almost guessed that right:lol: But ya the Clippera defense is just insane and they have some great depth, Even though the Lakers have the better record I think this is the Clippers championship to lose. Kawh shot really bad last night but once again they have so many options to make up for shooting nights like those.

Lakers did well to bounce back as well after their loss.

Safe to say that Rockets will not win it and that they will soon follow OKC in understanding that their project will not lead to a championship. Question is if they are happy with safe playoffs but no chance of anything more...

Lakers - Clippers in WCF for the hype. Lakers chance is slim and depends if they will rest AD and Lebron during regular season.

ATM I really cant see the Lakers beating the Clippers in a 7 game series. The clippers are a better defensive team and a better offensive team and have so many options.

It would take a herculean playoff performance from LeBron (and AD) for them to win it.

As for the east I would love it if Giannis and the Bucks made it to the finals.

Clippers should be considered as the favourites for sure. Lakers need to make some trades if they can. I wonder if Lebron + Agent can force something to happen.

The East is again fairly open with a lot of "they can make it to the finals if...".

He's a great player according to analytics because of how often he draws fouls, which is a shame because he can be so much more than that and would probably get more playoffs success if he wasn't so reliant on drawing free throws for cheap points.

We don't have any trade assets so don't count on it. We can't trade any first-round picks and don't have a 2nd rounder available until 2023 or so. We have almost no players available to include either (I think amongst others Rondo, KCP and McGee basically have no-trade clauses because of their 1+1 deals and I don't think we're shipping Kuzma, James, Davis or Green).

I don't know what Iggy's situation is but he'd be a great pickup imo.

I would consider trading Kuzma if possible if I controlled the Lakers, but his performances this season might not make him that desirable. You basically have this and next season until Lebron starts to decline to a stage where he will not be able to perform to the standard required to make the team a contender.

Grizzlies waiting for the Clippers to trade for him before he goes back to the Warriors for next season.

He gets fouled a lot in the playoffs too, and he's fecking great in the playoffs too

Harden draws cheap fouls here and there but the majority of calls he gets are down to defences having no other way to stop him

Would OKC consider Kuzma for Gallinari? Or the Grizzlies for Iggy?

Problem is we don't really have the assets otherwise, and frankly we kind of need both

Maybe we could ask Adam Silver to pay us back for David Stern screwing us over the CP3 trade? :devil:

I didn't mean it negatively. I'm just saying that Harden's legacy would be unfairly rated due to how everyone thinks his game is so reliant on getting foul calls when he's actually so much better than that and he's proven it. It just so happens that getting free throws is the most efficient way to score in basketball and he's just going all in towards that direction.

Since I clearly have the power to curse teams in this thread, I would just like tk say that I think the Celtics are awesome and obviously a contender this season.

Luka and Giannis deffo frontrunners for the MVP. Bottom of both conferences looking like hot garbage and no one looking worse than my Knicks.
 
Lakers responded well to the Dallas loss. If they can get some pieces on the buy-out market they'll challenge the Clippers.
 
Although I think the clippers do is in a 7 game series, I don't think it's straightforward as people think. Not sure how they guard the Lakers pick and roll and size in the paint.

Lakers can’t really make trades. They don’t have any picks or swap rights to trade and they don’t really have young players to trade anymore either. Not to mention matching any salaries will be a nightmare as half of their team have rights to refuse a trade.

Yeah bottom of playoffs race in the West looks poor so we will probably make it. We are a better team than Phoenix who are now in 8th, and better than all teams below us now.
 
Will be shocked if sixers come close to the title this season. Just a very weird basketball team . Seems like that everytime there is a game that is close in the 4th quarter they have absolutely no identity at all . Embiiid is busy dribbling it in weird areas while the PG will never shoot from 5+ yards out .
 
Sixers are an interesting case study of: can you win a title in the current NBA with a big man as your best player. I just don't think they can generate enough offense through Embiid.

You probably can if you surround him with shooting at guards and wings. You probably can’t if your second best player is a complete non-shooter who just occupies the same spaces, and your third best player is a center as well.

What they should do is put Simmons out on the market and see what I can get. He should still have good value out there, just not at Sixers.

That's a fair view. What are your thoughts on my Simmons for Beal idea? I think it'd be great for the Sixers.

Beal would be amazing for Sixers, and Simmons would be a good starting point for rebuild for Wizards so I actually like it. Maybe that would even be doable without any picks... The issue is Simmons would probably not like that move but he doesn't really have to endorse anything here.

Any trade involving Beal would have to wait until offseason but that's actually good because Simmons has a poison pill provision so it would be extremely hard to figure something out this year (I think Phila is hard capped too). They would have until the end of this year to figure something out and then would do the trade in the offseason if they don't work together.

I think Simmons is really talented and if you surround him with the right team of shooters he can really flourish. Basically become Giannis lite. His refusal to improve his game is really hurting him though, he's basically the exact same player in year 3 that he was in year 1.
