NatWest T20 Blast

Off to a T20 Blast game between Surrey and Kent tonight. My second ever time going to cricket and first time I've ever considered country cricket. Who should I stick a few quid on?
Surrey, have a bit more quality in batting

I've got to admit watching Livingstone bat here I'm not at all surprised he failed for England. He's just playing baseball shots, don't think I've seen a proper shot yet at all.

And Nottinghamshire 106/0 from the powerplay!
As a Derbyshire follower home and away, it's pretty nervous times at the moment as we've put ourselves in a position to make the quarter finals and then who knows!

And Root got out whilst I was watching.

feck you Adam Lyth you bald cnut.

Lyth for England.

Fancy Northants to chase this down, all the momentum is with them.

That was an insane total by Yorkshire and Adam Lyth. I would however point out as a home and away follower of the Derbyshire Falcons, we did do the double over Yorkshire this season :).
Massive game for us tonight, win or bust really at home to Worcestershire. Both groups going down to the wire which is great for the competition. Got my tickets booked well in advance for Finals Day again and who knows, maybe the miracle of the Falcons being there may come true

Afridi rolling back the years with the bat!

And dropped from a full-toss

Got his 100 then out. Terrific knock from him.

This is a complete mismatch. No wonder Derbyshire never make it to the knockout stages.

Cheers, not our finest hour

Derbyshire are a joke.

This is a complete mismatch. No wonder Derbyshire never make it to the knockout stages.

Look at the table. We finished second, winning 5 out of 6 at home. We beat Yorkshire home and away and they couldn't qualify despite their record breaking match last week.
Same goes for Lancashire, champions in 2015 and Northants, champions last year, both of whom we claimed victories against.
Unfortunately last night we came up against an unstoppable force in Afridi and found ourselves up against it from the first ball. He had said to the Hampshire staff he wanted promoting up the order because he felt wasted batting so low down, he was averaging less than 10 per innings. And it paid off - sometimes you just have to hold your hands up.
Derbyshire are working on a much lower budget than the other counties and the city has always been more football orientated therefore our crowds can be poor.
To call us a joke when you consider some of the teams that didn't even make it this far is a bit harsh!

Surrey playing very well, should get 200+ :(

Anyone else on here going to Finals Day on Saturday? This will be my 5th year in a row and I'm buzzing for it. Absolutely fantastic day out, and glad to see it's sold out.

Finals Day today! Nice weather at the moment. Come on Birmingham!!

These 2 doing well. Need to break this partnership soon.

Brilliant!! Needed that.

Woakes lad, wtf you doing?

What a catch!!!

Brum into the final, just about!! Great try Salter.
