Mykhaylo Mudryk | Reported - Failed doping test

He has been cooking a lot for Ukraine recently. His pace and ball movement reminds me so much of Mbappe. Pochettino needs to put faith in him, there is a world class talent in there even though he has been poor for chelsea.

Who’s that Pochémon?

Its Mudryk!

If you see how he moves with the ball and the faint he does then push the ball forward with incredible acceleration, it is very similiar to mbappe. The only thing mudryk lacks is his end product, which can be developed. I see a lot of resemblance between mbappe and mudryk (for Ukraine). It is easy to write him of now, but with good coaching, this guy can have an transformative season similiar to Salah and de brunyne who were outcast by Chelsea. This guy just need faith put in him and be the main man. Not consistently rotating with sterling and chastised for few poor performances

I thought it was one of those "look how shite this guy is" videos at first

he messes up the first action, and in the second he fecks up a 5 yard pass

Lacks end product, middle produce and beginning product as well. He’s shit. You can’t teach him to play football at 22

That is the chelsea version of him you are seeing. The Ukraine version looks much more refined and a talented prospect. The environment at Chelsea last few season was horrible, Pochettino wants to create a family atmosphere there, so perhaps mudryk will be able to emulate his Ukraine form with chelsea

A bunch of Chelsea players will improve under Poch, and Mudryk might well be one of them.

Still, it’d take a huge improvement to make him anything better than average.

If that is him cooking, I think the rest of the league should be ok

Did absolutely nothing to show he was going to cook for chelsea. If that’s him cooking for Ukraine, he’s got another tough year ahead. Nothing at all reminds me of Mbappe other than him being quick.

Never thought I’d say this but I can see what you mean here.

Mudryk isn’t as good as Mbappe obviously but the movement to feint and accelerate is similar.

I do still firmly believe he will be a very good winger for Chelsea he just needs nurturing. The worst thing for his career was moving to Chelsea over Arsenal.

The Chelsea version has 0 goals, 2 assists in 17 games.

but wait till you see his Ukraine version where in 11 games he has 0 goals and, oh wait…

?
He didn't get the chance to move to Arsenal. They never had a bid accepted.

Maybe that comes across harsher than intended but there was clear interest from Arsenal and that settled structure would have been a lot easier to come into than the situation at Chelsea at the time.

Under a good manager who could impose a clearer plan and structure I think he’ll come good.

This is one of the best and most consistent WUMs on the caf, it’s no wonder it gets so many responses

Are people really writing him off after six months? I suppose the CAF never learns from previous mistakes.

He was hyped up to the moon after a good six months and now he's being written off after a poor six months. I think it's safe to say the jury is still out.

The Caf is just having fun when he's shite. If in the future he turns good, where's the fun in that?

Christ thought we had it bad with Antony, expect a 90 million bid from Saudi any day now

Need to create space for him to shine in a match. His close control and first touch is bang average.

No wonder he is struggling with chelsea and the style of slow build up play.

Pochettino need to add urgency in chelsea s general play. That will make not only mudryk but sterling nkunku and madueke more decisive in my opinion.

Hope is slow ponderous unfit players all moved away. That will make pochettino job lot easier.

He will actually fit well into a counter attacking setup. Not sure if that's where you're headed with Poch.

Yes he will be better suited in counter attacking team. But not necessarily we primarily set up that way.We can use counter situations better for sure. But we rarely score counter attack goals last season. Holding on to the ball too much main reason we failed to score counter attack goals.

If team set up to release him early into space behind defense then we can bring his confidence back. Not only him but madueke,Jackson, nkunku all are having good pace. The new recruits all have pace. In my opinion chelsea will basically set up as a counter pressing quick transition oriented attack.

Our ball playing ability in defense may be useful for us going forward and unlock pacy players. Colwill, Silva, badiashile, fofana all are good ball playing defenders. Our Wing backs/full backs also good in that sense. We will see.

Does pure counter-attacking football win you leagues these days? Every top team has mobile physical defenders. If you want to dominate, you need a City type model imo. Maybe a Klopp hybrid type set up could work...

Comparing this fella to Mbappé may be one of the worst football takes ever spouted on the internet.

Pace doesn’t necessarily mean great at counterattacking football.

Being good on the counter is just as much movement, off the ball and decision making. Just running fast isn’t enough.

All teams dominated league had the ability to counter attack and score goals when opportunity arise. Chelsea did score zero from counters last season. United 10,liverpool and city 7 new castle 5 arsenal 4. Having that weapon necessary to make opponents feel they are on edge when entered into half.

Poch s tottenham and psg teams did well in mid block pressing and counter from there. So we expect high line defense with good organised mid block pressing team with potential to attack with pace from there.

I mean it’s another fantastic assist.

Oh for sure. Love to see him getting regular minutes and being used sensibly - still think comparing him to Mbappe is a piss take.

Also Braga were genuinely great last year; a very very fun team to watch so don't want to disparage them at all.

Just thought I'd contribute to the seemingly inevitable descent into hell of the discourse in this thread to be honest!
