Musk | Fascist | Leader of the Free World

Unlimited data worldwide.

And I have people telling me this guy will rule the world using AI    Yet his current AI makes his thumb look like a nose and his index finger grow a heel.

Doesn’t satellite broadband have really high ping rates? So it’s basically unworkable for gaming. Which rules out a huge chunk of his online fans.

High ping, struggles with weather, only has coverage in certain areas... As so often with Musk it's a useful product (for those so far out there that cables are too expensive) made silly by his extravagant claims.

Like colonising Mars? Or his unbreakable glass on the Cybet truck that smashed when he hit it with a sledge hammer?!

That was the turning point for me where although I knew of him and his companies, I didn't really know lots about him. Until that moment I thought he was as many perceived him, a super rich, super intelligent inventor & innovator. As soon as that glass smashed I realised he was a fecking idiot.

Pretty much. For me it was the pedo accusation of the cave diver that finally drove me over the line. He has always had the aura of a tripping psycho for me though, but so does Zuckerberg and so did Jobs, and he has definetly outgrown their evilness by a couple of magnitudes (though Zuck would be more evil if he saw any advantage in it without a doubt, Jobs too if he were alive).

The best thing for the EU to counter these tariffs would be to hit all these people's wealth. Zuck, Elon and Bezos have a silly proportion of the total US wealth now. The EU should simply attempt to take their business away from them (in europe) on the basis of national security. In my opinion Facebook and Google are ripe for being labelled too dangerous to be in foreign hands, if those foreigners act like Americans have done in the past 2 months.

Yeah, the paedo comment got to me too. Zuck has also shown himself to be an insufferable odious cnut as well, but granted he doesn't seem as evil as Elon. Maybe like Elon did for a long time he's just hiding it? Can't trust any of them to be honest.

Didn't Zuck take the Facebook idea/platform from the Winklevoss twins? Or much more complicated reality of what happened?

I do know the twins eventually received a settlement through the courts.

That was first half 2022 though, before his chat with Putin. Aside from the Thailand thing, there weren't a ton of warning signs about him, unless you'd done some proper research on him at least.
He had his extremely weird and vocal takes about pandemic way earlier than that.

if you look through his history he's been saying dumb shit the entire time, who knew

apart from all the people here who kept telling us the entire time, i can't think of anyone

It only makes sense in rural areas where wired connection is a challenge. No body would be stupid enough to pay for it in the cities. This is a article which discusses how much it costs? For a third of the price, you can get 40x the speed, almost no latency and unlimited data from regular providers.

I think you can be fairly certain that Zuckerberg is abusing the power he holds via Meta and that they are interfering with elections. There's just no upside for Zuckerberg to have a public persona of a Bond villain.

Elon Musk’s Family History in South Africa Reveals Ties to Apartheid & Neo-Nazi Movements

But one of the products of that is you have people like Musk and Thiel, who have done very well and whose parents did very well out of the apartheid system, who deny responsibility for it. They blame it on the Afrikaners. They blame it on a government, extreme government, extreme right-wing government. But then they have to explain how it is that their own parents were so able to do so well out of apartheid, and then they put that down to individual talent, that they’re naturally gifted, and that leads them down this whole libertarian path, anti-government path, because, essentially, they have to explain how they, too, were benefits of apartheid, without taking responsibility.

The way the Musk lineage has often been laundered through an unquestioning, pliable media has always felt half finished and lacking in any curiosity. You usually get a single sentence claiming something like "Musk was against Apartheid" or "his dad never owned a mine", with no follow up, evidence or attribution. It's good to see someone actually look into this.

That quote is also why eugenics exists. It tells people born into wealth that they succeeded in life because they are special, not because of their parents money and status. For eugenics, it is the idea that they succeed because they are genetically superior.

boris johnson and dominic cummings are both eugenicists.

They should charge and prosecute him.

Wisconsin attorney general sues Elon Musk to block $1 million payment offers

---
Also on Friday, Musk's political action committee identified the recipient of its first $1 million giveaway — a Green Bay man who had donated to the Wisconsin GOP and the conservative candidate in the court race, and who has a history of posting support for President Donald Trump and his agenda.
---

---
Musk's political action committee said Friday that it had awarded $1 million to Scott Ainsworth, a mechanical engineer from Green Bay, for signing its petition protesting against "activist" judges. In a video posted on X, Ainsworth encouraged people to sign the petition and "get out and vote early for Brad Schimel."

"If everyone in the MAGA movement shows up and votes for Brad Schimel, we will win," Ainsworth said in the video.

Ainsworth donated $350 to Schimel's campaign this year, campaign finance records show.

Those Democratic politicians are fecking hopeless. Let him go through with it and then arrest his ass. Instead they warn him, on X..

This isn't actually all that true. The starlink stuff is all very low orbit, so the distances and therefore pings aren't much more than a standard fibre connection.

Traditional sataltite internet used geostationary (or certainly very far out) sataltites, which added hundreds of ms to your ping. But it's not the case with these low orbit systems.

Massive innovation breaks and grants around ai; being able to offset x losses; also m&a appearing and taxed differently for different stages. It’s not a dumb move - the capitalist system is just broken

Can someone explain what does selling X to XAI mean? How is Musk benefitting from this?

He's basically attempting to remove the perception that Twitter is a failing company by integrating it as a subsidiary of a broader project (not just XAI, but AI in general), which is regarded as more of a success with a much bigger upside. A bit like what he did when Tesla was on the rocks in 2017 and he bought Solar City to broaden its appeal - except this time he appears to be doing it the other way around, by merging two existing businesses he already owns.

Not true anymore btw. Ping is a solid 40 or so with no latency with Starlink in West cork

xAI buying X the social network for 45 billion. Hopefully this means he's moving money around because X is clearly doing so poorly and he goes bankrupt....unlikely...would be great though

Is this in anyway related to the TSLA stock price? I remember reading about him using TSLA stock as collateral of some kind. I’m not very well versed with the terminology, but something about the stock price going down having a big impact to his overall wealth.

The Tesla margin call story seems to have not been entirely accurate, so this would appear to be something separate. Although given that most of Musk’s companies are private, one never knows what kind of shady business he’s doing behind the scenes to lessen his risk in case one of his companies fail.
