He is also in OpenAI’s board of directors. Today, it is reported that Musk wants to buy OpenAI, so attacking Summers makes not much sense. But then, Musk has been behaving like a total psychopath who also happens to be a lunatic.

I am all for trashing Nazi Elon nowadays, but he actually founded it. He put the moneys for it, recruited chief scientist Sutskever, and together with Altman built the original team and structure.
I guess he never expected it to become 'that big' which is why he didn't install himself as CEO but let Altman do so, and by the time OpenAI started making news, he wanted to become CEO but Altman basically was able to outmaneuver him. But originally, it was his idea and his money to start.

The image of him in the White House answering questions with that clownish cap and kid on his head, is hilariously stupid. I mean most fascist states blur the lines between money and power but the brazen nature of it in the US is even more damning for the American people and what they have voted for.

Even here in India we know the PM is hand in glove with a few billionaires he does the bidding for, but it’s mostly a hush hush affair. Musk standing there acting as if he’s running things is comedy gold.
From the outside, it feels like the sort of situation that will likely lead to the beginning of the US’ decline. Bad decisions made out of arrogance and delusion is how the big fall.
Good to see. But I'm not a big fan of Altman. I think they're both motivated to be the controllers of AI's future. Even if Musk keeps telling us he wants OpenAI to be open, it will still be mainly for his personal gain.

Also, he probably already has all the power he can attain. He doesn't actually need the presidency to get what he wants. And assuming a "normal" election cycle next time around, he would first need to win the Republican nomination and then the general election, and I don't think it can be overstated just how awkward an individual he actually is. Musk would be terrible at rallies and debates. He comes across as a giant dweeb. I feel like his role will continue to be this - right hand man and financier to whoever runs. And then there is obviously the whole constitutional aspect. If the Republicans are going to change the constitution for the next election it will be to elect Trump again, not to elect Musk.
