Time for a rant...
Moyes has blamed the players and squad depth but it starts with his tactics. They've been dreadful all season, our record against the top-6 is an embarrassment. Crystal Palace have more wins against the top-6 teams than we do!!
Our self-belief and confidence has been completely killed. Before we could be 0-2 down and still believe we van get a result, now we go 1 goal down and I expect defeat. The players were champions 1 season ago, to go from that to 7th can't entirely be their fault. It must come down to the training, tactics, confidence and mentality. We look scared and confused as to what to do in the final-third, and there is no creativity. When you have Mata, Kagawa, Nani, Januzaj, Rooney & RVP in the squad, there can be no excuses for the lack of creativity. Plus, this season we look far more defensively inept than I can remember. Moyes is meant to be a defensive genius, what's happened to that??
From the rumours, only Rooney looks happy playing for Moyes. Players who otherwise enjoy their football, or rarely speak out, look disgruntled. It's fine accepting some players are not good enough and should be sold, but other than DDG, has anyone else consistently demonstrated they deserve to be here long-term? The players levels may have dropped off, but it's up to the manager to get them to play better. Moyes seems happier blaming the lack of quality than taking responsibility and bringing the best out of players. Great managers can get an extra 20% performance from average players, they can make the good look great. Moyes has made the good players look distinctly average this season.
Then there is Moyes' own mentality. He's not cut out to be United manager. Saying things like "we'll try to win" or claiming City & Liverpool are favourites when we play at OT is unacceptable. Making comments like "we aspire to be at City's level" are pathetic. He is not brave enough to manage the expectations at this club, for him making it difficult for the opponents is an achievement. He has shown this season his mentality and tactical awareness is just not good enough.
Moyes has had long enough to prove himself and show progression. He's not shown anything which warrants him getting more time. He looks as clueless today as he did when he started the job. The fans have been patient enough but this righteousness that 'we're Man Utd we don't sack managers' needs to end. He's doing more and more harm to this club each passing week and, at the end of the day, we need to do what's best for the club and not fecking David Moyes. He's a good man, but if it needs OT to boo him to get the owners attention then so be it.
This result surely should be the final nail in the coffin. But, despite my hope, I can see him being given more time when he clearly doesn't deserve it.
