Most underrated band of all times

Good call

The Doors - underrated? :confused::confused:

FFS, if you haven't heard about The Doors or know at least 5 of their songs, you must've been living under a rock.
There's probably at least a million people in the world prepared to list The Doors as one of their 10 favorite bands....

That Elvis bloke was pretty underrated, my 3 year old cousin haven't heard of him... :rolleyes:

Rush sell out stadiums wherever they go... Underrated?

I realise that but it's just the general feeling that most around me don't like the band as much as I do

That's the reason why you see many prominent bands being bought up in these topics 'cos some love them much more than normal and find it amazing that the rest don't appreciate them as highly

You could say the same about the Doves. They've a huge cult following, and would no doubt sell out huge venues, but ask the normal bloke in the street and most wouldn't be able to name a tune.

you confuse "underrated" with "unknown"

Fair point.

However, Rush play progressive rock - a type of music that's genreally out of favour with most critics/media, quite out of proportion with the genre's audience. After punk came along, prog rock has to this day been viewed as extremely "unhip"..

So, the same could be applied to all hugely popular prog bands like Dream Theatre, Jethro Tull, Yes etc.

If anything, you could argue that prog is underrated, but I don't think Rush comes out better worse than other bands in the genre...

(I had a Rush craze in my early teens btw, bought all their albums in the span of a year. Not my preferred listening nowadays, but I revisit them once every couple of years :) )

The 2 tracks up on myspace from their new album I liked a lot. They still are going strong.
