Most Overrated Bands / Artists

None of these new Indie cnuts can write lyrics

The Arctic Monkeys are sometimes quite witty, I wish they wouldn't act like they have this great insight into women's minds though, they're not Leonard Cohen, they're about 15

Mind you, I suppose they've boned an awful lot of girls...

Bands like Editors just sound like they're ripping off any number of bands that have come before them... Joy Divison, Echo and the Bunnymen etc. Some of their songs are alright, but they're never going to be as good as what came before and not worth getting excited about.

:nono: Cold War Kids are quite decent, and while the lyrics do tend to lack for most, the rest of the music scene aren't exactly Bacharach's are they.

Music in general is pretty pants at the minute, I mean 80's classics seem bigger than most new stuff at college.

Easy Lover >> any song this year

Never heard of Cold War Boys...

I'm listening to Portishead's second album at the moment... now that is an underrated album. It's basically perfect in my book, only you have to listen to it about 8 times to get it, it's so dischordant

feck off with your Muse over rated rubbish. They're feckin great. Matt Bellamy has more talent in his little finger than Snow Patrol and Artic Monkeys put together. Knobbers

Snow Patrol are just terrible... so fecking limp

"If I lay here... if I just laaaaaaaay here...." Yes, well what you cnut? What would happen, other than you probably melting?

Muse are good as tribute bands go

Snow Patrol are shit as feck, but Muse? Starlight and Super Massive Black Hole were awesome songs, album can be abit shit but knights of cydonia was pretty good.

Feck off we've had this debate a million times. If we follow this logic, the majority of bands formed are a 'tribute' of someone else

Why don't you just get some Radiohead albums rather than pepsi?

Ok, but if your at a vending machine and they've ran outta coke...you'd buy Pepsi right? It's not like Muse are bad just because they're abit like someone else. Hell, its pretty hard to be original since the Beatles.

There's unoriginal and then there's just doing an impression

Nice vending machine metaphor extension though

:) To be fair, its not like Muse are a carbon-copy I mean, most of the black holes & revelations album songs are more like driving tunes for the shuttle than the relative normality of Radiohead. Meh scrap this point No Surprises was like that too.

A very fecking bad impression, terrible band Muse and funnily enough didn't make the Cafes Top 50 albums.

No, I've not been to a gig since Obie Trice about four years ago. Besides, I'm into my thirties now, there's no place for blokes in their thirties at gigs, I used to watch them them leaping about pretending they were having fun for half an hour and then pulling their calf muscles

feck off, I'm thirty you cnut.

Well, tis true that Muse blatantly tried to follow in Radiohead's footsteps. Matt Bellamy is infinitely likeable though because his talent quite plentiful, once you scratch beneath the surface.

Every band I hear at work now just has no idea of how to structure a song, it's all exactly the same depending on which facet of which fad in which month of the year it was made in. cnuts.

PS. Plod Patrol aren't worth the scrapings of my arse.

Ha, you geriatric cnuts.

So why the antagonism towards U2 on this forum? Apart from the fact that most feel they are over-rated?
