Most Embarrasing Gig You've Ever Been To

Thank you Thank you Thank you........

I would like to state that I wasn't embarrassed when I went to see them in the 1970/80's but now being older and wiser I see the error of my ways.
The Nolans were a very shite band but the Wombles were even worse.

My only plea is I was a child and wasn't aware of what I was doing and so wasn't responsible for my actions.

I have however...

.... seen some gold as well......

Queen
The Who
Eric Clapton
David Bowie
Victor Brox Blues Train
Pink Floyd
Deep Purple
Chris Rea
The Cult
Dire Straits
...to name a few....

........so I feel vindicated.

Once again, Thank you!

P.S. The Nolans are very embarrassing.:D

Some good shit there MUM, when did you see Floyd?

I saw a group called Mr Big (Romeo was their biggest single) as support to Queen.

If support bands count then mine is Kayne West.

If only the band you actually went to see count then I don't think I have been to one that would be embarrasing to tell.

Ultravox?
Boomtown Rats? (feckin' Bob Geldof, for goodness sake....)

Status Quo? - No they were fun. Even they didn't take themselves seriously.
Sting? - No. A great live performer and made some great music even if he isn't a favorite of mine.
Belouis Somme ? - No. Imagination and that other hit of his were great and he was a support act anyway.

Stop trying MuM. You already admitted to seeing The Nolans and The Wombles ;)

I think I even ran screaming from the room when the Nolans were on the TV much less went to see them when I was young.

I saw Pulp and Space in 1996.
I'm sorry......

Saw Space twice actually, once at Manchester Academy and once at The Hacienda, the lead singer was alright a good lad but I had a scuffle with the ginger twat guitarist, he took offence to either being called 'ginger', 'Scouse' or 'a twat'. Or all three combined.

Pulp was right after thr Brit Awards when he got arrested for trying to bum Michael Jackson, but the show was a bit too gay for me and my mates, we spent most of the time near the service areas copping off with birds we met that night instead.

In the interest of the thread.

The Corrs.

Although I'm not embarassed about it, they're fecking mint! Just have to get past the token "for as much airplay as possible" song on each album.

Okay.
On reflection......The Nolans are really embarrassing.......

Here you go....*hands over trophy*

Thanks MUM, I shall cherish it proudly.

You put up a fine battle though and should be rightly proud :D

your prize. shall be paid....with romance!

Marcos, seeing as you begged your mum to take you it doesn't count, even though the embarassment level is huge.

Nice try though.

Spice Girls

I saw B*withched, and they were supported by Daphne And Celeste. That is embarrassing looking back.

I used to work for Sony Music between 89-95 and we were always 'encouraged' to go along to Sony artist's shows. I had the 'pleasure' of seeing the likes of Martika and Des-ree.

I did go to see Dollar and Bucks Fizz at Halloween once, it was an 80's themed do so it actually was pretty funny.

Saw Gary Glitter too back in 86ish.... Gary's Gangshow... amazing btw.

I remember seeing Edward Barton supporting James.... awful awful perfomer.

o.k here goes.

I took my wife to a Gloria Estefan Concert

d d doctor doctor beat.

(actually quite good)

I went to school with Jenny Frost from that band, well a year or so younger.
Still, that doesn't excuse you from going to see them, you should get a twatting......

Was she the one who lived in St Helens? Here folks still live on Moss Bank hill.

you're about 43 posts too late mate. the thing is i went to see them with a couple of mates and my dad. we were only about 12/13 at the time though, and even though we got to see the corr sisters, i still feel dirty that i went to a corrs concert to this day. in fact, were this not an anonymous internet forum (even though my username is my real name), then i probably wouldn't have mentioned it. none of my closest friends know, and the 2 guys i went with i lost contact with about 5 years ago.

I PM'd you some shit, but heard she's just had a kid with her muppet grey-haired DJ Cockney Wanker boyfriend
