Morten Hjulmand

He is way better than Ugarte. Judging by both spells at Sporting

I don’t watch enough of him, but have been impressed when I have, with his positioning and technical ability, particularly his ability to make the correct simple decision.

Would he translate to the premier league?

His profile and Ugarte would offer different ways of playing, by either being possession dominant against weaker opponents, or transition dominant against stronger opponents.

Way better at what? He contributes more offensively, yeah, but at their respective roles I think Ugarte was better. Important to keep in mind Ugarte was only 20-21 too and Hjulmand is 25.

From what I've seen of Ugarte for United and Hjulmand for Denmark, Hjulmand seems more comfortable in possession and better at progressive passing. On the other hand, Ugarte seems to be better at winning the ball back.

He is equally good defensively and contributes much more offensively. Also, a leader... Team captain after a single season

I never thought that Ugarte's ceiling was that high... His weaknesses were aspects of the game where you are either a natural or not. Thus I don't think that age matters much here

Amorim thinks very highly of Ugarte but he has said as a Sporting manager that he thought that Hjulmand was more complete than Ugarte and Palhinha. Having said that, I don’t think United needs Hjulmand. Ugarte was very good for Sporting under Amorim in different context and I think that he will be a valid player for United. There are more pressing needs for your squad.

My second favorite Sporting player after Gyokeres.

I would be surprised if he didn't end up at a top European club in the next couple of years.
