Moronic Death Metal Bands

Opeth look well out of place on that mural thing.

I `ve always prefered Black to Death Metal. I feel that scene has a bit more variety, more showmanship, more church burnings and more murders.

Children of Bodom are an awesome band. They incorporate energy and technical prowess into all of their music. Alexi Laiho is an awesome guitarist and how you call them the worse band in the world ever is beyond me. There are plenty of worse examples in death metal and in other genres. I think the pop boy bands of the 90's are among the worst tide of shite to ever encompass the music world. Talentless nobodies who were marketable and nothing else.

Most black metal bands have a lot of showmanship...that showmanship gives the impression that they go and burn churches and the like in their spare time. I hate to disappoint you when I say that that is all it is, an impression. There was a case in the 90's I believe of a guy named Varg going around Norway and burning churches but unfortunately I don't think I have heard of other metal bands or members of bands going that far.

That's the point. It's more of an artistic thing, if you look at an album, most of the time the have the artwork on the front and if you look at the spine you'll see the band name, printed in a normal font. Usually that is the case..I'm sure there are exceptions.

there are critically acclaimed guitarists that i dont like..mainly cos they play very fast but with no soul

My mate at school really liked Death Metal, I never really got into it but I think Cannibal Corpse's first few albums were total class. Eaten Back to Life, Butchered at Birth and Tomb of the Mutilated, classic stuff

members of burzum (varg vikerness), mayhem, immortal, emperor, gorgoroth and others that i have forgotten have been jailed for murder/torturing/church burnings and other serious stuff.

Yep, the list is a long one indeed. Jon Nödtveidt, the main man in Dissection killed himself last year after spending a number of years in prison for murdering a shirt lifter. He`d only been out a couple of years.

If you want to talk about moronic people....this thread should be about "The moronic side of Black Metal".....makes even the worst death metal band look like a pantheon of gods.
 
Its all a gimmick to sell albums. Or most of it is anyways. Rappers use 'beef' to do the same thing.
 
They are full of shit and their musical abilities are for amateurs.

The only Black Metal bands I like are Dark Tranquility, Summoning, Emperor and 2 albums from Dimmu Borgir.

Dark Tranquilty are NOT a black metal band.

You really should check out Drudkh. I can understand why a lot of metal fans would fail to appreciate the really extreme artists like Darkthrone, Burzum or Xasthur, but bands like Drudkh, Deathspell Omega and Enslaved make mature, intelligent BM that is more accessible than the raw, arcane productions offered up by a lot of the second wave bands.

Dark Tranqulity is Swedish melodic death, so Yes, You're right, Man.

Enslaved's new album "Ruun" is masterpiece, I love it. I love also their other album called "Blodhemn"

I'll take your advice and check out Drudkh and Deathspell Omega.

Gorgoroth and Burzum are not that bad... Varg Vikersen of Burzum is the most fecked up guy I ever saw in Black Metal but his history is really intresting.

Ever heard Summoning ? Especially their album called "Stronghold" - One of my favourite metal album ever.

Excuse but isn't it a bit scary that people likes the moronic side of Death Metal? Unbelievable. I like Metal in general and despite not liking the lyrics/themes of the various death metal bands I like the normal songs of In Flames. It's actually disturbing hearing to some of their lyrics which just go against the normal human side. But the again some like Emo...:lol:
 
Im not one for mainstream music, or even mainstream music genre's. But i fail to get this sub-genre of Metal, it looks like talentless weirdo's to me.

They are the poseurs of the scene. Decent artists do inhabit the genre, they`re the ones who tend not to make tits of themselves in videos.
