Mohammed Kudus | Watch

13/15 successful dribbles! most in a Premier League for a few years.

1 goal in his last 16 matches might be a bit concerning? but I'd generally agree that he's being held back by Moyes tactics.

Does he have a release clause? He was adamant in having one when he decided to snub Brighton. I would love us to sign him. How the hell ten hag thought Antony was a better player than him? He can’t even identify talent in his own players let alone others. It’s a joke.

The joke rather is that grown people actually believe and pedal that pathetic myth. By the time ETH left Ajax. Not only was Kudus not yet established as a player, he wasn't for sale at any price

How do you know that Ajax weren’t ready to sell him at any price and an year later, viola sold him for only 35m? How do you know? Ajax also weren’t ready to sell Antony unless for an absurd amount and the joke is that Ten hag not only thought that Antony is good enough for us but also worth it for that price. That’s awful talent identification no matter how you slice it. But of course make another awful post full of pathetic excuses.

Because they were very clear ABOUT who they were willing to sell that summer. Not only that, Kudu's hadn't even yet made the requisite development/nor impact at Ajax yet for them to be ready to flip his talent for profit. So was never on their "to sale" list

Anyone who seriously follows football outside the happenings of the EPL knows this.

The ONLY reason Antony's price became stupid is not only were Glazer led United utter shit at negotiations. They went in very late to seal the deal, compounding the issue.

The entire narrative of 'Kudus was available for sale/how did ETH think Antony better" the summer ETH joined United is a clique bait invention by the press and punditry to make money off of Manchester United's name. Not anything remotely based in reality. Its ashaming so many of our fans actually believe the lie.

Don't conflate me correcting YOUR ignorance of the subject matter with 'defending" ETH. The two things are mutually exclusive.

You are simply 100% wrong concerning everything around Kudus and Antony's transfer status the Summer ETH joined United. Period. No if's, buts or maybes.

You can pedal a bike, and peddle a myth. But can you pedal a mythological bike? And is Antony such a vessel?

Apart from that I agree with you.

This is just brilliant:
I'd say
The Uk press and punditry:
1. Can pedal a mythological bike.
2. Antony is the "perfect vessel"
He has garnered them a fortune having folks click and discuss "their miracle bike peddling the myth".:D

Hehe.

He’ll go into next season with the number ‘21’ and ‘The Perfect Vessel’ on his back. That will turn the sceptics around, you’ll see.

So let me get this right. Kudus wasn’t for sale at any price in said season.

So a bid of 60m or so would have been rejected?

yet has a very good season with Ajax and then sold for 38m.

the only ignorance here is that kudus wasn’t available for any price….

Yeah Ajax players are always for sale… at a price. And we above all teams know that better than most. People were talking rubbish as per.

Yes. Because Ajax have a very specific and public policy of the number of first team stars they sale each season. Usually by the 3rd year of their first deal (for those brought in young from other sides) depending on how quickly their development has raised interest in their talent. They usually even name them too....

100%. Do you honestly think ALL of Europe were SO stupid NONE of them went into buy him that summer ETH left? Or you prefer to think "it's just Ten Hag" who "couldn't notice" his talent?

Furthermore, no side that went in for him this past summer is demonstratably as rubbish as United at negotiation. So trying to use what United paid for Antony as a standard is straight up fallacious. Given that West Ham went in as late as we did for Antony the previous summer and paid less than half what we did.....

You certainly FEEL that way. Which has jack shit to do with reality.

On the point about Antony as a comparison, if you'd like to point to where I even mentioned his name, that would be helpful.

And for the point about the rest of Europe being in for him, I'll even quote you here

Maybe the reason the rest of Europe wasn't in for him is because, as you said, he wasn't an established player yet, so maybe what Ajax would have wanted for him, and what clubs were willing to pay may not have aligned.
And before you say anything, I also haven't been in here saying we should have bought this guy over Antony.

I'm merely pointing out the, 'not for sale at any price', which just isn't true.

Watching this lad play only to then remember we have to watch Antony tomorrow and that we paid double the price for that pleasure is utterly depressing. When it comes to ability, they’re in a different stratosphere. They’re virtually playing a different sport.

Ten Hag briefly coached Kudus too so it doesn't reflect well on him that he couldn't see it.

I'm hearing that Liverpool is looking at him. Would hate to see him there.

Need to be all over this one if he has a release clause

we need to be looking at him and putting in a bid

No point. He’ll be way too expensive. We need to find players soon to be as good as him, playing at clubs that won’t bum us on transfer fees. We would have had to pay £20m more for Kudus than West Ham. They could have got Antony for £20-30m less than we paid.

Tory boy needs to change how we purchase players. Between Varane, Casemiro, Mount, Antony, and Amrabats loan fee, we probably overspent by £50-70m. It’s insane.

Yep you're right and even then it seems too high (85m). We don't have that kind of money unfortunately

https://www.thisisanfield.com/2024/...er-mohammed-kudus-release-clause-this-summer/

Especially after buying Antony for £80m who wouldn’t sell for £40m, Sancho for the same who might go for £30m, Casemiro for £70m who won’t be sold for more than £15m, and and and.

Tens of millions of pounds in overpayments on players we pay so much they won’t leave.

Has to change. Really don’t think it will.

For a former PwC accountant, you'd think Ed would be better at asset management.

I think he plays a bit too much as an individual to make it at the very, very top.

He is a joy to watch though. He can carry the ball large distances. He shields it well too.

ten Hag didn't really fancy him at Ajax. He had his real breakthrough season after ten Hag left.

Wouldn't want to see him here under Erik if he's still the manager come August.

Looking at his position at Ajax he was playing centrally or behind the striker.

If that's how Erik used him previously it's a guarantee he would be underutilized at United.

special player:

Aside from being a one man counter attack who goes past people for fun, his defensive workrate is top class as well.

Has been great for West Ham and has to be on his way to a bigger club soon.

How much could he cost? I think these type of signings are the ones we've been missing for the past years. I'd love him here, can play 3-4 positions, would improve us a lot.

The boat has sailed, we bought Antony for double instead.

The boat hasnt sailed at all. The ticket will just be a lot more expensive if we buy him from West Ham. Manchester United is still able to buy West Ham players and Kudus himself went on a strike to go to Everton. If Manchester United want Kudus and Kudus wants Manchester United, we could still get him.

Yeah but they'll want 100 million.
