I’m convinced mission impossible franchise is just Tom Cruise ticking off his bucket list of stunts he wants to do and getting a script written around it so he can get paid millions to do them.

But yeah, must agree with what you quoted, I remember none of the plots except the 'noc list' from the first, yet I've always felt they were very solid as hell, even the John Woo one, for it's ridiculousness.
I have no idea what happened in any of them since about MI3, but I have the distinct impression that I walked away from every single one thoroughly entertained. The recent Bond movies are usually the opposite, actually.
Ah yes you're right, she wasn't in that one. The other 3 should be sufficient for most though.
