Miroslav Klose

Just asking:What is his goals to matches ratio this season in the Bundesliga?

The robbie keane played yesterday, i think hes the one we should be getting(if anyone). i think fergie would have to admit that he was wrong about keane........reserve team me arse! did you see his goals yesterday?

The Klose rumour is in the Daily mail too. He's scored 3 goals for Kaiserslautern this season who are second from bottom of the Bundesliga. But he scores with headers, he's young and quick and we could do worse for the money. I would give him a go because I reckon he will take the pressure off RVN.

a player cannot make more than one transfer in a season...

as for klose...i'd really rather we don't get him.

You can have the twat.

He'd probably be a very good replacement wouldn't he? ;)

Ohhhhhhhhhhhh shit!

The only thing in his favour is that I think he'd be happy enough on the bench. Not really sure if that's good or not come to think of it.

Why do we always have to buy £25m + players before people are satisfied? £5m for a player who got 5 goals at the world cup is pretty reasonable IMO. He's quick, young, good in the air and not cup-tied I think. If we get him and he scores 10 for the rest of the season then he's worth it. But the main thing will be as a foil for RVN. If Klose signs watch Ruuds goal tally go. Mark my words!

He's not actually that good though mate. Look at who he scored those 5 goals against. He's done feck all this season, even if he has scored a couple of goals. He's a fairly average player full stop. He's young though and I guess he could develop under Ferguson but I hope this doesn't happen, although I'd agree for that kind of money he wouldn't represent a terrible buy.

I think it was the Mail which started this story so I wouldn't get too worried, I'm sure its bullshit.

Fair comment Dans. But you have to set his recent form against the fact that Kaiserslautern are currently next to bottom of the Budesliga. Who would have bought Kevin Beattie last season? Sometimes a players potential is not displayed because he plays for a shit team. Now Southampton have got their tactics right and put a run together with Beatties help he is suddenly a £15m + prospect and banging on the door of the England set-up. At the moment anyone decent in the air would give us dimension that has been seriously lacking of late, which is a travesty when we have the best crosser of a ball in Europe.

My cousin is a season ticket holder down at Soton and has been for a few years and she says that Beattie has a run like this every season and they're all just waiting for it to end after which he'll barely score again all season! As for Klose, I live in Germany, I have seen him for the last two seasons and he has never struck me as a great player. He's a poor man's Karl Heinz Riedle.

2 or 3 years now I think - I think he started out there - Jens will know.

My mistake. Living in Soton with all tha talk I get him mixed up with Kevin Davies. Just a mental block or something.

I just think he would be a different kind of stiking option. Diego seems more cut-out for the 4-4-1-1 formation. The same if you play Scholes, Ole or Giggs there. If SAF wanted a genuine 4-4-2 option then you need someone good in the air. And £5m is a nice tentative sum to get someone in for that kind of experimentation. Plus as has been said he is young and could be moulded.

Rebrov is going for 3m apparently. I think in a good team i.e. ours, he could do well. He can't have completely lost what he had at Kiev. I'd rather him than Klose.

i have no opinion either way on him as i only saw him play in the world cup. probably like most others here. an excellent header of the ball but other than that i dont know. We do lack someone who gives us an arial threat though, particularly with becks crossing back to its best.

if we do buy him, you can be sure that fergie will have done his homework on him, and that he thinks he can get Klose to perform for United. Thats good enough for me.

yeh i agree with that
I have my doubts on him as an observor, but i know in my mind that He must have some good potential and must be a good idea because Fergie's been talking about this illusive '4th striker' for ages, and no one knows what's best for United than him.

Maybe Fergie saw this list before we did?

Ruudgers Johannes Martinius Van Nistelrooy

'kinell....

The guy's a mystery. In fairness, 3 (I think)of his 5 goals in the WC came against Saudi Arabia, who lost 8-0 anyway, but they are still WC goals, though.
And the guy is VERY GOOD in the air, the point about Becks crosses spot on.
I am not convinced, but positive..
