Milos Kerkez

Kerkez starts for us though, that's the difference.

We were linked to him last summer, I like what I've seen from him. He holds his own but has much more untapped potential.

You start for us at LB if you have a left foot.

Robinson will be 28 at the start of next season. For a club trying to build a team that will be challenging for titles in 3+ years, that's simply the wrong age profile of player to target.

Kerkez at 21 and Ait Nouri at 23 on the other hand....

Id rather stick with Diego Leon.

He looks a similar build and ability as Kerkez whilst being 4 years younger.

Going for a LWB in his prime is more my beneficial like Davies.

Davies & Leon for me.

I would be shocked if a 17 year old kid comes in and plays. Has he even played for his national team yet?

Leon isn’t coming straight into the team, it’s typical RedCafe’s obsession with youngsters thinking.

Maybe, but until this November the age difference between Yoro and Leon was less than one year; i think 7 months.

If we get someone in their prime like Davies, for me Leon can start taking Malacia's and Shaw's spot by next January 2026.

Surely you can see that Yoro was playing regularly in French league and can see the jump between Paruguan first division and premier League

I never said Leon should be our first team starter - but play as our 2nd LB by January 2026.

Signing Davies on a small fee this January or free in summer gives us the ability to have both a player in their prime and a youngster by January 2026. Until then i think Davies, Dalot Mazroui and Shaw should be able to cover LWB.

Its similar to how people want a prime striker to help Hojlund develop.

Signing Kerkez & Leon whilst also having Amass (no idea about his potential) leaves us with 3 defenders near the same age bracket.

Id rather one near the age of 25, and one the age about 18-21.

Who is going to be more expensive? Kirkez or Robinson? There isn’t too much difference between the two so I would go with the cheaper option. I think Kirkez is better offensively while Robinson is better defensively.

Probably Kerkez but he’s also much younger. As others have mentioned Robinson is a fair bit older (will be 28) and could be a risk considering he relies so much on his elite athleticism to succeed.

I have been on this train for a while. This guy will be a good signing for whoever ends up signing him - the only question I have is how good he will be in the wing back role. Would have been a perfect signing if we were still playing a back four.

And if we don't get Davies?

He's 27, got a few good years in him yet probably.
27 is past it on the CAF meaning he'll be next to useless soon. I've seen folks saying Theo Hernandez wouldn't be a good signing too because he's 27 and not worth the money.

Don't think anyone said 27 is past it?

There's a legitimate argument to make however that someone close to 30 isn't worth going for in a position where you've got to be able to bomb up and down the pitch for 90 minutes.

27,28,29....you don't suddenly become crap at 30. Evra didn't decline at 29/30. Lahm, Carvajal, Maicon, Alves, Barcelona, Alba, Cole.

Theo situation is more about his pending court case I believe.
What case? The one dismissed that the accuser is currently being sent to court for false accusations? Or is there a new one recently that I'm on aware of. I see a lot folks repeating this and I'm confused.

These are all legendary players. Robinson literally relies on his elite athleticism.
The point is folks are saying you'll lose athleticism at 30 and that's not true, we've seen it not happen over and over. 30 isn't some poison chalice. 32 upwards like Case then yh you'll see a drop off in certain areas but generally it's overblown. Some of our players will soon be 27, are you saying we should replace them now too? 27 is prime age and we need players in their prime too, we can't have a team full of wondering and early 20s and expect to win. Even the class of 92 had experienced senior players to guide them.

No, I think it must be that one that’s been referred to, maybe people aren’t aware it was dismissed. I also read on the Theo thread that someone mentioned a new charge/case emerging but could be BS.

Can’t see Bournemouth selling for any reasonable price in January. Gutierrez or Alvaro with their respective release/buy back clauses make more sense given our financial restrictions.

No one but yourself actually mentioned 27. I thought he was 29. It is a worry signing a player who will be in their early thirties halfway through their contract, depending on the player. If you don't rely on your athleticism it's cool, but plenty of players, particularly in this instance Robinson do.

I have to stress again, the wingbacks in this system need to do a lot of running.
