Midfielder, Goalkeeper, Striker - all signed by 29th July.

All of them decent signings, none of them will take us a step further on their own, but will add to the team.

Far from enough to get us closer to city, but maybe enough to keep us in the top 4

Sell Fred, McT, Maguire, Henderson and get Amrabat in and we can call it a decent/needed window

Well, I don’t think anyone would have predicted this. Well done the club for getting the major parts of our business done.

We've done pretty well so far with three solid signings and a fourth lined up. We'll shift on at least a few from McFred, DvB, Henderson and Maguire too. I'd have bitten your hand off for that at the end of last season tbh.

So does everyone think Onana was a primary target all along or only after the FA Cup final?

I remember hearing that the attempted short passes against Liverpool in our third game was way lower than the first two which suggests ETH decided DDG couldn't pass short that well as far back as that.

It's possible he thought he'd get better and only decided on a new keeper by the FA Cup final but he definitely had doubts about DDG from near the start of the season.

Those three players probably represent our biggest needs to the team at the end of last season, so it’s great to wrap them up during the pre-season.

Amrabat, a centre back if we sell Maguire and another centre forward would represent an excellent window.

We aren’t signing another 3 I am afraid

Business in has been good so far.

Time to get selling now, there's still about 10 players that need to be shown the door.

Still feel like we need someone like kolo muane unless MG is coming back. It’s mental we have no update on the latter.

I've heard rumorus of the internal investigation being almost done, maybe they've already decided what they want to do and are now just sounding out the potential kick backs from sponsors. Reports yesterday suggested Adidas were ready to go along with whatever Utd decide.

Very encouraging. It's interesting to see how the squad evolves from here going forward. Right back seems the biggest issue (possibly RW if Sancho or Antony can't produce more goals and assists)

Do think RB will be in the thinking for January

Still need a proper centre mid.

Maybe we go for Caicedo next summer if Brighton keep on knocking back the offers, presumably you feel that Amrabat doesn't fit the bill of a PROPER CM but happy to have totally misinterpreted you

Yep Amrabat would be the perfect signing. I wouldn't mind Caicedo joining too!

Not to put a downer on this positivity, but I'd question whether they were his preferred targets. I think we were in for Costa first for the GK position (priced out) and Kane for the CF position (Levy'd out). But three very solid signings nonetheless.
That's what every coach has to work with. Klopp didn't want Salah, even Pep missed out on the likes of Jorginho and Kane and reportedly even Maguire and Fred. Our own Fergie didn't get everyone he wanted and famously signed a certain Ronaldo after missing out on Ronaldinho. If you go to Spain or Italy, they are even less involved in the transfer decision making. If we need a coach to get literally everything they want before they can succeed, then lord help us because that coach will be the first of his kind.

Really delighted with this. Onana was especially important to get in on time as the GK has to form a real understanding with the back 5 as he’s so different from De Gea. Hopefully we can get the 4th in by mid August too.

Rubbish window where the sagas with players that never sign! Wheres our 33 year old on a year loan because of penny pinching?

Very impressed all round, amrabat and some outs is a cherry on the cake

Amrabat and Disasi(provided we get rid of Maguire) would wrap up an excellent window.

I find it hard to believe EtH wanted Costa over the GK he had at Ajax during an incredibly successful spell?

Kane, maybe, yeah, but I’d also like to think EtH probably knew Kane would be a silly price and Levy is a dick, and more of a stop gap than any long term solution.
Costa is weak minded and inexperienced… cost portugal dearly at the World Cup didn’t he

Despite the moaning about the previous regime that handled transfers. The current incumbents are doing a pretty decent job giving the manager what he wants, rather than a shiny new toy that he has to fit in somewhere. Long may it continue.

United fans who are desperate to sell McT and even Maguire… both have improved a lot . McT is worth £60m minimum you can tell the manager is not too keen to sell him. Maguire too even slimmed down quite a bit and we impressive against Real Madrid . If we sold them next summer they’d both sell for more honestly.

Managers decides transfer for me. Always has been.

Good or bad they're their signing

Good window and if that is our buying business done I am good with that.
If we move Fred and VDB on and slot Hannibal into his spot and we can ease Kobbie into the first team squad with game time once he has overcome his setback and we have all our listed players back playing then we will have a good young squad going forward.
It looks like we will have to look at the CB position in another window but we have ample cover in that position anyway and maybe big Willy will show himself in the coming months.

He will look better with Onana behind him, problem is he can't play the high line Erik wants

We can't sell Maguire without getting a replacement. If we did that, we'd be down to only 3 CBs, one of whom (Varane) is massively injury prone.

Sell Fred, Henderson and VDB to get Amrabat (while keeping McTominay because he still has a role to play off the bench).

Then sell Maguire to buy somebody else. Or keep him to ensure we have a 4th CB.

That's an assumption based on his lack of his pace. But you could make a similar reasoning about Martinez because of his lack of height or Varane because of his lack of passing range.

Truth is, Maguire's biggest issue isn't really his speed. It's actually his over-the-top eagerness when trying to close down players in midfield. His timing needs improve in order to prevent him getting caught out. If he can fix that (and there's no reason why he can't) he can still play a part in an EtH team.

Though I still think it's best for all parties if he moves on. The issue is obviously going to be his price. We need a big enough fee to finance his replacement. Because anyone better than him is not going to come cheap.

It’s really good business up to now and we’ve done well in the market since EtH joined I think.

We have overpaid in certain circumstances but on the assumption that we get Amrabat, that’s 9 players EtH has brought in? He’s certainly received the backing and rightly so.

Can’t wait for next season to get underway (2-0 loss vs wolves incoming  )

I think we are spending about 20m more than our expected price over the 3 transfers we've done, but overall I am happy with the new players we've got.

All we need to do next is to sell McFred, DVB, Henderson and hopefully Maguire to raise another 50-100m fund, and replace them with Amrabat (20-25m), Suzuki(5m) and another backup CB (30-40m). I think we are good to go. We may even have spare to buy another young talent out there.

Good job so far. We've strengthened all the key spots that needed addressing. We have a first team that can match anyone bar City.

Next focus is on the squad. If Fred and McTominay are leaving we need Amrabat. We need a backup forward, and ideally a backup keeper, though the latter should be easy.

If we get manage to get rid of McTominay and Maguire I will be both delighted and surprised.

I’d take 20 mill for Fred, donly, Maguire and the like, just go and cut our losses and use the money to sign Amrabat, maybe another right back.

Been a much improved windy and am real happy. Fair play to Arnold/Murtaugh/Riggs for getting deals done and listening to EtH. Big season ahead.

Is it worth worrying about Ineos and Qatar? Can imagine both will have ‘ideas’ about who to sign and will more than likely countermand ’unworthy’ signings in favour of Neymar and Ross Barkley.

Shows we may not need the takeover we think we do.

Whatever you say about the players and the fees (I'm personally positive about the players and not too worried about the fees), the manner in which we've got our business done this season has been a dramatic improvement on previous years. Targets identified early and pursued purposefully, no panicking, clear strategy. You actually have to give credit to the club here and not just ETH; it's taken a while but they've learned from there mistakes. If we can finalise a few more sales (Fred, DVB, one of Maguire and McTominay) before the end of the window, I'd it's a massive step forward in the process of our transfer business.

Excellent window with the way we have gone about doing our business. Whether players will be a hit or miss is to be seen. I think we will get Sofyan and 1 last minute free/loan striker signing (if martial moves to saudi). Also expect Scott, Fred, Donny, Dean to move in the next few weeks

Its gonna be surreal watch them all hit the ground running. Hope for a deep title challenge, knock out rounds of CL and FA cup would be perfect. You gotta be realistic with these things - IX

We have overpaid but fron past experiences we try to haggle right to the end of the window and nothing positive never tends to cone from and just end up either paying the asking price or worse even more and we get a player not ready from the start and takes 2 or 3 months into the season to get going.

We have definitely overpaid for all by about a combine 30 million for the players which is not the end of the world if it means we are settle straight from the first game

What pleases me most about this window is that we are standing our ground regarding what we believe a player is worth and how much we are willing to pay. Under the Woodward we would have just paid whatever clubs ask for their players.

Really glad to see someone made this thread. Obviously it's not quite the glorious surprise of Anderson/Nani/Hargreaves from back in the day, but assuming Hojland is done, that's 3 absolutely crucial signings that should immediately improve the first team, done and dusted before August. Ignoring the prices, Murtough et al deserve some credit here, certainly a step above the high-bar that was the Woodward regime.

I for one am I really excited to see EtH's first team playing together now. In just over 12 months our team should be so much more balanced, younger and 'modern' in terms of pressing ability and tactical awareness.

The final step for me is how you have Bruno as captain and not be a team focussed on chaos, but maybe if everyone else has control we'll be okay.

Right now i would rate this as a 2.5/5 or 3/5 window. All of the signings are more or less gamble and non of them pure world class. Which we would need to challenge in Premier league and UCL. We need a difference makers, not a code name masonmounts who are pretty good EPL players but nothing special. We should do better. And after all, i really dont think we got value for money. City or Bayern would have done much better with this budget.
