Does it get on your tits that Silvestre seems to mouth off a fair bit to the media?

I hate it when our lot to the same...

I'm not bothered

Usually it's the tabloids that twist and turn every word of what the players are saying

As long as they're committed on the pitch, I don't care what they allegedly say

Silvestre has "allegedly" whinged about losing his place to Irwin, gone on about how he would possibly move if offered a place at CB, and whinged about how your crowd is dead quiet compared to the ours...off the top of my head

That would get on my tits..

You obviously take the tabloids more seriously than I do.

I have grave doubt about him as first choice in the first place. When he publically complains and then virtually offers himself for sale I think is demonstrates a lack of commitment to our cause. Time to get rid IMO.

Its nothing to do with tabloids...

Its to do with actual quotes from a player..too many from the same one in my book

I think he's improved, well obviously he has from when he first arrived, but is still suspect at the back....never one to trust defensively..

And I tend to agree re his mouthing off...surprised Demento hasn't told him to shut it..

Quotes twisted and sensationlised by tabloids

His efforts on the pitch cannot be criticised, which is what I judge the players on

How do you twist a quote where he claims our fans are much noiser than yours?

I was referring to the ones about him allegdedly looking for a move

If he reckons Liverpool fans makes more noise than Man United fans, that's the least of my worries - I'm not gonna call for a player's head because of that <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laugh Out Loud]" />

I didn't say he was actually looking for a move?

But why does he need to speak out about how he'd consider it if he played in his proper position?

And I suppose his fan comment wasn't exactly contraversial

Unless the quote was invented it seems he said that he would consider moving to another big club if they let him play CB.

Even allowing for twisting this doesn't suggest that he is very happy at or commited to United. The Stam saga should have made players a bit more careful about what they said to the press.

He is a liability at CB. Fergie played him there for a while before putting him LB but he still drifts in to the centre and we get exposed. If he is not 100% committed he should go. If he is committed he should shut up and concentrate on improving his game because god knows it needs it. We dont have a defence that strikes fear into opponents like in the days of Bruce/Pally. Teams know they can outpace us in the middle, know that Mickey/Wes will make at least 1 mistake in a match so they target them. Its all well and good having a cracking front 6 but we cant outscore everybody, as proved by last seasons displays.

I as a fan/share holder (well, owner of possibly 2 blades of grass!)expect more, demand more, want more from the players and if they are not upto it we get players who are. Real Madrid dont seem to have these problems and yet we are the richest club in the world, its pissing me off!

Wasn't there a similar much to do bout nothing when Micky made some similar comments when France played Australia earlier in the year. He was quoted as saying one thing, which wasn't the case according to him and Fergie.

Do you not think its a bit strange though how all these quotes are being attributed to him?

I have my doubts about the authenticity of the quotes. He's improved as a footballer every year since coming to OT, and I don't want to trivialize his contributions by haggling over some ABU article thats obviously published to unsettle the way the fans percieve him.

PS. Anyone who thinks Wayne Bridge is better than Mickey - put down the crack pipe. ;)
