Our RBs make runs up the pitch all game. Dalot has some quality there, AWB less so but half the time our rightback is "out of position" its because they've run up the pitch to support the attack which means they arent there for the counter when one of our players has made a poor contribution and lost the ball. Usually Olise is playing in front of Joel Ward

He'd get more support from United than he gets at Palace
Surely it's Munoz you should be showing here not Ward?

There's truth in what you say, but keeping our current back 4 in a 4-3-3 with a single pivot DM in midfield absolutely won't work with Frimpong at RB IMO. He's closer to being a right winger than a right back.

This is the role he thrives in at Leverkusen. He's no doubt a very good player and would be a bargain for somewhere between 35-45 million, as the reported asking fee was around that amount when we were considering a move for him over a year ago, but it would probably be way higher now, unless he has a release clause? Not sure.

My point is that expecting him to just simply replace Dalot in the current 4-3-3 we're trying is asking for trouble.
He has a release clause of c.34m.

And yes, Frimpong for Dalot would not be the only change we make in the team. There will be other adjustments to find the right balance. And that doesn’t necessarily need to mean 5 at the back I don’t think. Frimpong can also provide that sort of get out of jail card that Kyle Walker does as he is incredibly fast.

It will depend on a few things. If Frimpong is a player that will suit the manager and new structure's ideas, and there's a place for him in the squad, it really is a no-brainer for me. We would have the advantage over other clubs as well, since he grew up in Manchester and I'm pretty sure he would love a move to the Premier League.

Yeah didnt realise he'd played as many matches as Ward now.

Ward has started 15 games at RB and Clyne 7. Munoz has now started 15 too

Heres AWB

Its a bit better for Munoz with the end product although thats because he doesnt keep the ball as well. You'd take it for sure. But in creating more oppertunities he has a lowish pass percantage.

Its relatively similar defensively, but Munoz is better in the air. Also because hes playing as a wingback his defending is further forward so not exactly the same.

76% is terrible, keep well clear.

They’ve changed to Munoz under glasner and they’ve hit the right combo

Glasner has spoken about how they’ve improved Olise by having him attack more from central positions which is only possible by having their RB make runs down the right all game

so if we’re talking about Olise + Frimpong that could be a very deadly combo but if Olise and our current RBs in this setup then we may need to go back to the drawing board
Is Frimpong really a RB though? He's basically a RW.

I really dont get the excitement around Olise.

He's a good player, but thats it. He isnt going to come in and have a Bruno Fernandes effect. We have enough "good" players, its all we ever sign these day. We need a few levels above good.

£35-40 max and he is worth a chance, but some saying £55-60m+?? Stinks of another over priced mediocre United signing.

Amazing how many are turning their noses up at Olise , not good enough for us, really??, have you watched us for the last 10 years?

Forget the United of the past, the reality is we are dire, he would inject some much needed excitement and goal threat, he’s young and for his talent level not that expensive if the clause is true .

frimpong would work just fine in a back 4
According to? He's played there for Leverkusen and always done a lot worse. The main things he brings are speed and movement into the area to create and score. Posters complain when our fullbacks are getting that far forward and arent back when teams counter

If I believe the rumours today we’re losing our Manager, Sporting Director, Guehi, Wharton, Olise, Eze and Mateta. Only won a few games ffs, leave us alone :D
Sorry lad you’re building a squad of high potential signings. Unfortunately I doubt you’ll keep them forever but perhaps it may be a case of Olise sold this summer, Eze next summer etc

Isn't he injury prone? Well, he will adapt pretty quickly then.
Been covered in here a lot over the past few pages, a large amount of Palace fans feel that the hamstring injury was due to very poor management from Hodgson then rushing him back far sooner than he should have because Palace were struggling and not because of Olise being injury prone.

Don’t make Amad stop this signing. Would be as short sighted as it gets.

We need the competition and if we get conference league developing the youngsters would be perfect.

Beside United, he is now linked to Newcastle too. Do they have the room to buy him? They of course has all the money, but do they have room?

They need to sell to buy anyone, I believe they need to sell just to stay with FFP stuff. So Olise isn't a goer for them as things stand.

Absolutely they are such similar players as well, left footed right winger inverted play maker that both have world class potential. This would be a great start to sign Olise early and signal that Antony kicked his last ball at old Trafford!

I suspect we need to sell as well, if we get him for a reasonable fee ie < 40/45 then it's probably good business. We have room in the squad for another wide player. Would think we need to clear out a bit first and have so many issues could be a late window one.

The only team that matters
Sign Olise for the right and Gordon for the left. Rasmus won’t have any issues with supply anymore
Do you really think Newcastle would sell us (or anyone else) Gordon, there's about us much chance of that as United beating City in the cup final 10-0!

Probably not but they are in the poo poo with FFP at the moment so wouldn’t be surprised to see him, Bruno G or Isak sold

As good as he is, I'd rather us sign a left winger after selling Rashford. Amad, Garnacho, Mount as options with Lacey and Mantato looking to break through should be fine. We have more urgent positions to sort.
