Gaming Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater

This is cool. My Snake is gonna be a fecking wreck.

Volgin: "my what a beautiful body you have"
Snake: :o

This is an interesting feature. I hope they vary some of the guard placements and gameplay a little though. I kind of know it all off by heart after all these years.

Imagine fighting the Boss with 6 arrows wounds, 5 bee stings, bullet wounds, burnt marks and a raging erection from the Fears poison.

As someone who considers the original to be among the best games ever made, I feel no real excitement about this remake. There’s something missing.

Could be that it looks too faithful to the original - not that respecting the original is bad but based on what I’ve seen it looks like merely a visually modernised version of the original rather than a fully (mechanically, animations wise etc) modern iteration of a 20 year old game. I’m playing Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed right now and this looks more like that kind of remaster / remake than an RE2 standard one.

I can't bring myself to play these games anymore because it's all cut scene, set piece, cut scene, set piece bullshit. I lose interest within minutes.

Just give me control of the game and let the story flow through as part of the gameplay.

Good to know.

It wasn’t lacking in the gameplay department though.

Boy it looks awfully good doesn't it
Does it? I’ll need to watch the trialer again.

I love sneaking games. I was obsessed with the latest Tomb Raider games as well as I like the puzzle element of it, as well as sneaking up behind people and silently killing them. I also like maneuvering Lara Croft into a position where you can see her tit sweat.

I watched the interview yesterday and it sounds like they at least understand what people want from the remake. No fecking about, just the same game with updated visuals and gameplay.

It’s going to be very hard for them to mess up but we will see.

In-game notifications like;

"You have alerted the guards. Would you like to purchase an Alert Ender for €0.99c? Or you can buy a bundle of 10 Alert Enders for €8.99?"

Or yellow paint telling you where to go.

Don't forget the legendary Lionel Messi edition.

The IGN preview for this says it pretty much 1:1 with a graphical update. Not sure how I feel about that, it should be 1:1 with the exception of it playing like MGSV, instead it’s exactly the same as the original.

I saw that as well and it’s been evident from everything we’ve seen so far.

I adore Snake Eater and consider it to be one of the greatest games ever made but I have no excitement for this remake. I just can’t shake the feeling that you’re essentially playing a the same old game on a modern engine. The possibilities with modern gaming should have resulted in a remake blowing people’s minds. Instead it’s more, yeah they’re remaking it and it looks pretty. Maybe it’ll grab me when I do play it and the magic of the original will do the job but it feels like steps retread.
