Looked brilliant.
We won and that was better in patches but for a lot of that game though we were just hitting it long wastefully. Dortmund didn't do this once, they passed it out well and put some great pieces of play together and were unlucky, where as all of our good pieces of play came from individuals.
Our goalkeepers looked far less composed in possession than the other teams I have seen. In these tournament you need them to be good on the ball and able to act as a sweeper and pick out passes. Our two seemed to lack the ability or confidence to do this and preferred to just lump it long from the back.

This seems to be a United coaching diktat almost. I remember de Gea used to play short passes out to the defenders a lot lot more when he came to United than he does now.
Its because it suits English football more than European football.
Just as botn said earlier, we're preparing players for English football, not European football.
Of course the top talents will shine anywhere, but its why most of our products end up in lower/mid-table/championship clubs where their mentality fits in.

Daehli was magnificent and absolutely ran the show with some unbelievable skill and close control. Pearson was also excellent again, got a hat-trick but could of had 6. If that is the last game we have finished on a very high note.
