We won't be signing any players during the January transfer window.
The aim is to spend as little as possible and was achieved in Summer 2018, January 2019 and Summer 2019. I have no doubt that in January 2020, nothing will be spent.
If the board had their way, we'd have 1 transfer window every 5 years. Think of the savings that they could make!!!
Just like the rest of our club, our scouts are performing badly.
From top to bottom, MUFC are underperforming.

I think there was a story that we are going to sign 5 people last Summer.
There are some gullible people on this planet, because plenty of fans believed that nonsense, despite me telling people to use logic and understand that we are saving money to pay the shareholders. The board have also hired a manager who is a "yes man" and won't make any financial demands to buy top players. He'll happily work with £70M (see below) per season.
I used to think that ridiculous scams (like when you are sent an email that you won the lottery, you never knew you entered) did not work, but given the gullible nature of some people, I can now believe it.
Here's some more information, regarding our spending during the last few Summers.
Net spend in Summer 2018: £70M, approx.
Net spend in Summer 2019: £65M, approx.
If ever I have seen a business in "money saving mode", it is MUFC.

We can't attract top talent, we do a half hearted rebuild which leads to regular rebuilds.
It is clear we only have £100m to spend per season. These days £100m buys you 1.5 players.
So if we want to improve next summer Pogba will need to be sold for close enough to £130m of which I think the manager will get £10m to spend

Given how bad United are i included a sympathy reduction in the price.
Matic is going to leave next summer. We might be looking at 3 midfielders next summer plus Sancho. Two of the three MFs needs to be more defensive because we have an incredible unbalanced midfield setup now. One experienced DM, one prospect DM like Longstaff and then maybe Maddison.
If Pogba leaves maybe even more.
I am still shocked that the club did not get at least one DM in this summer, its not a good thing to buy three-four MFs in one summer, they need time to settle.
But it seems obvious that the club has gone from a position where if the first option is not available; they will wait for that player to be. Its a big difference from Mourinhos "lists" of five players per position where we would settle for number four or five like Fred if the top choices were not available.
Its a sensible strategy but it will frustrate fans; like some people in this thread that wants 5 attacking players in at once.
We have cleared the wage space for this. Transfer fees are not an issue for the club and has never been, its so tiresome to read threads like that when it comes to transfer fees and thes fecking "net spend". If Pogba leaves its his wages that will clear up even more space for new recruits, not transfer fees..
We need to get rid of Sanchez for good ASAP and there will be plenty of space for new recruits.

Previously I didn't think you could "buy" 16-year olds players. Can we buy him in the same way we bought Hannibal Mejbri? Hannibal has French + Tunisian nationality. Eduardo Camavinga Congolese only. With Hannibal, the issue was he wanted to leave & come here. If Camavinga is happy getting Ligue 1 game time with Rennes - why would he leave?
Mathias Normann, age 23, plays midfield for Rostov, in Russia. Has EPL experience already & Ole knows him from his Molde days. Recently got 3 8/10 match ratings in a row. Totalling 2 assists, a goal and MotM in those 3 matches. £20m snip? Walks into our midfield.

Don't know much about him as I only heard about him a couple of days ago. Although he has EPL experience, he never played a game for Brighton and spend his time on loan at Molde from what I read. The stats you mentioned are decent though.

Add a world class CB to that too if we are really looking to compete with Liverpool and City. Tuanazbe isn't ready yet, Lindelof isn't consistent enough and gets buillied, Jones is Jones and Rojo I like, but he isn't good enough for a long season.
Plus a LB and a CB. Plus a replacement for Pogba.
I meant in the next two windows. Just don't see us adding in a LW, another CB and a LB on top of the 2 CMs, 1 RW and 1 striker by 2020 August.

So we'll sign two youth players and one other player. We'll fail to get the fourth player. New manager will have us struggling and will be sacked Summer 2021. Rinse and repeat.

That recent Athletic article highlighted why we’re not going to sign 4-5+ players in a summer. Ed simply can’t do it, he can’t work on multiple deals at once. He’s just not very good at his job.
This is the incomprehensible thing that I would criticise Ed for most.
Negotiations shouldn’t begin on July 1st 2020; if we need 4/5/6 players & can identify this in October 2019 I believe it would be resonance to expect the club be able to make those signings in the next 10 months.
The summer window was a shambles & the continued slowly slowly approach is malpractice.
4 players aren't going to do shit. We still need to get rid off some deadwood too. Lingard (isn't going to happen with Ole at the wheel), Mata, Rojo, Young and possibly Matic.
