How does anyone with credibility continue to work for such a channel?

Murdoch wants them to be that way.

They're already that way.

Perfect fit.

Lou Dobbs has the eyes of Palpatine after he goes full Sith.

Full blown cult of personality and dictatorship style reporting. Might as well be 1984.

Lou's been on a roll lately, really upped his game. Possibly due to concerns Stuart Varney was about to usurp him as most obsequious presenter on Fox Business.

You need two things for the likes of Varney and Dobbs to remain on Fox. Ownership/Management who approve and an audience who like the content. They have both and as such can continue as long as advertisers don’t jump off the ship.

I am sure they have proper journalists, how do they feel? I don't know the industry but having Fox on your CV during this period must be a blot on it? They and people like Lou Dobbs will be painted with the same brush.

Open warfare erupts at Fox News between news department and pro-Trump hosts

On Thursday, Vanity Fair documented “management bedlam” at Fox News as a Tucker Carlson guest attacked legal analyst Andrew Napolitano as a “fool” for backing impeachment of President Donald Trump, Shepard Smith criticized Carlson for not standing up for a colleague, and the network admonished Smith — all while Sean Hannity is privately wringing his hands about the whistleblower scandal and former House Speaker Paul Ryan is advising Lachlan Murdoch to prepare the network for a post-Trump political landscape.

As the Hollywood Reporter’s Jeremy Barr noted on Friday, that situation has not gotten any better in the subsequent hours. Hannity publicly blasted the Ukraine investigation as a “never-ending, unceasing, hysteria, lies, hoaxes, conspiracy theories,” and “a real, clear, present danger to this republic,” while news reporter Chris Wallace blasted the “astonishing” and “deeply misleading” narrative that right-wing defenders of Trump have been crafting to excuse his behavior.

All of this, Barr wrote, is exacerbating the long-simmering tensions between the news and opinion side of the network — both of which have a right-wing slant, but the former of which has at least a modicum of fact-checking and traditional investigative journalism.

“There’s always been a gap between the network’s news and opinion wings, but people who appear on Fox News tell
THR
that the chasm has recently been growing,” wrote Barr. “Carl Cameron, who spent 20 years at Fox News and left as the network’s chief political correspondent, said he used to take the brunt of the opinion wing. ‘I was routinely roughed up by the primetime hosts,’ he said. ‘It was clear that the entertainment side was at odds with the news department only if you lived in the middle of it.'”

Lets just hope they all bring their guns to work. For safety reasons.

These people are all the definition of yuppie. They've never done an honest days labour in their life (talking about the "opinion" hosts). They wouldn't know how to hold a gun, let alone clean, assemble, disassemble, or pull the trigger. The dirtiest their finger nails get, is when they open the tops to their soy lattes.

A day after Barr meets with Murdoch

Yeah just posted the same in the Trump thread. No coincidence there.

I thought it was Murdoch straightening Barr out and telling him what he wants from Trump. Now wondering if Barr had something on Murdoch and told him Fox needs to straighten out and get behind Trump.

Think maybe the threat of Trump going to OAN may have persuaded Murdoch to give Trump what he wanted. Firing of one of his critics. Chris Wallace may have to get in line now.

Listen, Pravda isn't going to brainwash itself.

Shep will land on his feet at one of the other networks. One of only a handful at Fox who are credible and honest journalists.

After the Megyn Kelly debacle with NBC, networks must be fairly skittish about taking on ex-Fox personnel. Smith seems to be normal though so maybe he would get a gig.

Claims that he walked.

If so it’ll be interesting if we find out what has been cascading down from the top.

I very much doubt we ever will though. That company will be absolutely locked down with NDAs.

I'd love to see Shep get his own shoe on HBO like last week tonight. I think he has major potential for independent audiences.

Cant imagine he won’t wind up on MSNBC or CNN after his “I promise not to work for any competitors for a bit” agreement concludes, which I’m guessing will be sooner rather than later since he is a journo and does have to work at some point. If I’m Jeff Zucker I would boot Don Lemon and replace him with Shep.

As good a place for this as any:

I'm devastated by this. A true paragon of virtue, justice and all that is right in the world. I, for one, will definitely not spit on his grave should I ever stumble upon it by chance.

Sounds like Tucker has received his weekly bonus check. Someone should ask him again what he thinks of the whole Iran thing. Probably now did a 180 on that and thinks everything with that was done perfectly. Can't wait for the next dude to school the guy after the likes of John Sweart and that Dutch professor before. Arguably the biggest hypocrite in all of journalism. Kind of like the American version of Piers Morgan.

For ages he refuted claims that nicotine and smoking contributed to lung cancer, railed against exercise. Considering he was pro-torture, however advanced it is, I hope it doesn't make it quick or easy on Rush.

Yeah, let's all hope his suffering will be over (as)soon(as possible):(
