Isn't the owner...the same?

Murdoch owns, what is it, 38% of Sky? That's bad enough. So you definitely wouldn't want him owning 100% of Sky. After the NOTW scandal he should have been banned from owning any media organization in the U.K.

 Basically only Hannity and Fox & Friends left as the Trump syccophants

Aren't you forgetting Tucker Two Faces? And that awful little fecker Jesse Watters? Also, Guilefoyle is pretty terrible too. You are right though that the numbers are definitely thinning for him on Fox. Interesting to read that Shep Smith is right up there with Cuomo, Madding and Tapper for being hated and distrusted by Trump supporters.

Ahh yeah forgot about Tucker and Watters....although I would guess Jesse may have a Bolling like problem down the road.

Oh and don't forget Lou Dobbs and Stuart Varney on Fox Busienss. Two big Drumpf nut lickers.

Oh wow, wouldn't that be absolutely amazing? He's a fecking joke really. He's gone from a token O'Reilly shill where he made a cameo appearance of just putting stoned and drunk students or poor minorities on camera and being incredibly patronising and insulting to them and then about them. He then discussed with Bill the ordeal of speaking to the peasants and liberal scum he was forced to meet and mocked them again. Now he's just an as equally detestable mouthpiece on The Five where he spouts some truly outrageous shit, often drawing gasps from the others around him. I often think even he's not dim enough to believe the shit he comes out with, but then I just look at his smug expression and vacant eyes and realise, yup, he really is.

I couldn't think of anyone more deserving of being brought down by a scandal. You've got me all excited at the prospect now  To be fair though, the press haven't really hammered Bolling at all, it's almost as if it was expected and they have just reported it and moved on. I honestly thought he would have been more taken apart, but I think it's probably more humiliating that he's just been ignored.

Lou Dobbs is awful too, well remembered, I'd almost forgotten about him.

Have you seen any of Varneys' work ? Clearly the paragon of objective journalism.

Yeah, I just can't take him seriously though. I don't know what it is about him, it might be the overly English accent he has, but I really can't take him seriously at all. Dobbs however is a nasty piece of work and he's said some outrageous stuff throughout the years, especially recently about Trump.

Sorry for Varney though, I thought we had made you suffer enough with Piers Morgan, but obviously not.

Mind you, it balances out because you can thank us for John Oliver and Richard Quest :D

 Quest is basically the farcically over-animated stereotype a-lot of Americans view Brits as.

Yes, I know, and I love him for it. I also love how he was completely forgiven by CNN and what seems like most of the US public for his transgressions in Central Park.

There's a CNN advert on at the moment (it's been on a while now) where he advertises his show and he's in a maze. He strides around the maze in his own imitable style before finding the centre and declaring a great day for business, but it's how he does it and what he says that just makes it funny. One quote in particular just gets me every time (he say's "I will be your guide through this labyrinth") My youngest lad (he's 11) and I constantly laugh our heads off and quote it all the time, he's just brilliant. A truly eccentric nutcase, but a terribly endearing one. Well I think so anyway. Over-animated is exactly right, the perfect description.

Oh shit, couldn't have happened at a worse time either. Feck it, he's an utter cnut but doesn't deserve that at all. So very sad. That's awful news. :(

I'm guessing its a coincidence that all of this happened around the same time. Seemed like he was a kid in college with his whole life ahead.

I want to avoid furthering the political slant in the Weinstein thread but this might answer to some why left/right came up (outside one poster's bizarre reasoning).

Paid actor! (CT nut favorite rally cry)

Speaking of... further down the replies on that tweet you'll stumble across this gem...

There were a bunch of accounts made of the type <city name> antifa or <city name> DSA which are pretty blatant far-right accounts.
In this case, it isn't even that, it is kekistan, which is a favourite term of the online far-right (their own land, where presumably they can kek, which is a deliberate mispelling of lol)

Edit: anti-statist is a libertairan account and many of them have sympathy with white supremacists.

O'Reilly losing his shit with the NY Times over them reporting he paid $32m to another sexual harassment victim just before Fox resigned him with a raise.

Megan Kelly destroyed O'Reilly again. Granted it's difficult to ascertain if this is true feelings or something to boost herself. Never know with Kelly. Maybe both are true.

That's quite disingenuous.

O'Reilly states that in 20 years of TV journalism no female co-worker had ever complained about harassment suffered at his hands. Kelly contradicts him and says that she complained.

What was the substance of her complaint, not made until November 2016, when she knew she was leaving Fox, and took the opportunity to ingratiate herself with her new employers by dumping on a soon-to-be former colleague, a longtime bete noire of the liberal media?

Kelly's complaint had nothing to do with harassment by O'Reilly. She objected to a public interview in which O'Reilly refused to discuss the issue with a hostile journalist. But the presentation of the story invites the reader to infer something quite different.

Of course none of this absolves O'Reilly from being a complete scumbag who has feasted on using his power to harass women for well over a decade (or more).

I've watched a little of Fox occasionally over the years, and one thing that always struck me was O'Reilly's vanity, which is often a red flag for bad behaviour.

A good example of his douchebaggery....

In fairness, that's a long way from Harvey Weinstein or Bill Cosby. It doesn't show O'Reilly in a good light, but there's nothing illegal, or clearly improper, described. There are no codes forbidding TV presenters hitting on women who guest on their shows.

It’s just one of many cases surrounding O’Reilly. There are far more that are far worse.

Fox News Revenues Fall
Ad revenues plunged 17 percent in September over the same month last year, according to the most recent financial data for the operation.

Statistics from the Standard Media Index, which tracks media income, showed that Fox News took the biggest hit of any cable news operation. CNN, which President Donald Trump frequently describes as “fake news,” lost just 1 percent in revenue, and MSNBC was up 2 percent.
